Now in the seventh year, in the fifth month, on the tenth of the month, some of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Jehovah, and they sat before me.

Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them, Thus says the Lord Jehovah, Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live, I will not be inquired of by you, declares the Lord Jehovah.

And say to them, Thus says the Lord Jehovah, On the day when I chose Israel and lifted up My hand to the seed of the house of Jacob and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt; when I lifted up My hand to them, saying, I am Jehovah your God;

and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I chose Israel, I swore with uplifted hand to the descendants of the house of Jacob and revealed myself to them in Egypt. With uplifted hand I said to them, "I am the LORD your God."

On that day I lifted up My hand to them to bring them out of the land of Egypt to a land that I had spied out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all the lands.

On that day I swore to them that I would bring them out of Egypt into a land I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands.

And I said to them, Cast away, each of you, the detestable things of your eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am Jehovah your God.

Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

他们却悖逆我，不肯听从我；各人不抛弃眼中所喜爱那些可憎之物，也不离弃埃及的偶像。我就说，我要将我的忿怒倾倒在他们身上，在埃及地向他们发尽我的怒气。

但他们竟背弃我，不肯听从我，没有人抛弃自己所喜爱的偶像，也没有人丢开埃及的神像。那时我本想在他们身上发泄我的愤怒，在埃及地域向他们尽泄我的怒气。

然而他们却叛逆了我，不肯听我，各不抛弃他们眼中所喜爱那可憎之像，不离弃埃及的偶像。“我本心里说我要将我的烈怒倾倒在他们身上，我要在埃及地之中向他们发尽我的忿怒。

他们却悖逆我，不肯听从我，不抛弃他们眼所喜爱那可憎之物，不离弃埃及的偶像。“我就说，我要将我的忿怒倾在他们身上，在埃及地向他们成就我怒中所定的。

וַיַּמְרוּ־בִ֗י וְלֹ֤א אָבוּ֙ לִּשְׁמֹ֣עַ אֵלַ֔י אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־שִׁקּוּצֵ֤י עֵֽינֵיהֶם֙ לֹ֣א הִשְׁלִ֔יכוּ וְאֶת־גִּלּוּלֵ֥י מִצְרַ֖יִםלֹ֣א עָזָ֑בוּ וָאֹמַ֞ר לִשְׁפֹּ֧ךְ חֲמָתִ֣י עֲלֵיהֶ֗ם לְכַלֹּ֤ות אַפִּי֙ בָּהֶ֔ם בְּתֹ֖וךְ אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

But they rebelled against Me and were not willing to listen to Me; they did not, each one, cast away the detestable things of their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Thus I thought to pour out My wrath upon them and to spend My anger on them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

'But they rebelled against me and would not listen to me; they did not get rid of the vile images they had set their eyes on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and spend my anger against them in Egypt.

我却为我名的缘故行事，免得我的名在他们处于其中的列国人眼前被亵渎；我在这列国人的眼前使他们认识我，为要领他们出埃及地。
和
我却为我名的缘故没有这样行，免得我名在他们所住的列国人眼前被亵渎，我领他们出埃及地，在这列国人的眼前将自己向他们显现。

But I did something for My name's sake that it might not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in the midst of whom they were, in whose sight I had made Myself known to them in order to bring them out of the land of Egypt.

But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

I
But for the sake of my name I did what would keep it from being profaned in the eyes of the nations they lived among and in whose sight I had revealed myself to the Israelites by bringing them out of Egypt.

And I gave them My statutes and made known to them My ordinances, by which, if a man does them, he will live.

And also I gave them My Sabbaths to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am Jehovah who sanctifies them.

以色列家却在旷野悖逆我，不顺从我的律例，厌弃我的典章．[人若遵行就必因此活着]，大大干犯我的安息日。“我就说，要在旷野将我的忿怒倾在他们身上，灭绝他们。

וַיַּמְרוּ־בִ֨י בֵֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל בַּמִּדְבָּ֗ר בְּחֻקֹּותַ֨י לֹא־הָלָ֜כוּ וְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַ֣י מָאָ֗סוּ אֲשֶׁר֩ יַעֲשֶׂ֨האֹתָ֤ם הָֽאָדָם֙ וָחַ֣י בָּהֶ֔ם וְאֶת־שַׁבְּתֹתַ֖י חִלְּל֣וּ מְאֹ֑ד וָאֹמַ֞ר לִשְׁפֹּ֨ךְ חֲמָתִ֧י עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם בַּמִּדְבָּ֖רלְכַלֹּותָֽם׃
R
But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes, and they rejected My ordinances, by which, if a man does them, he will live; and they greatly profaned My Sabbaths. Then I thought to pour out My wrath upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

'Yet the people of Israel rebelled against me in the desert. They did not follow my decrees but rejected my laws-although the man who obeys them will live by them-and they utterly desecrated my Sabbaths. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and destroy them in the desert.

我却为我名的缘故行事，免得我的名在列国人眼前被亵渎；我曾在列国人眼前领他们出来。
和
我却为我名的缘故没有这样行，免得我的名在我领他们出埃及的列国人眼前被亵渎。

R
But I did something for My name's sake that it might not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had caused them to go forth.

But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.

But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.

And I do it for My name's sake, Not to pollute it before the eyes of the nations, Before whose eyes I brought them forth.

But for the sake of my name I did what would keep it from being profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.

并且我在旷野也向他们举手起誓，必不领他们进入我所赐给他们流奶与蜜之地（那地是全地的荣耀）；

甚至在旷野中我也亲自向他们举手起过誓，不再领他们进入我曾赐给他们那流奶流蜜之地，即普世最肥美的地方；

וְגַם־אֲנִ֗י נָשָׂ֧אתִי יָדִ֛י לָהֶ֖ם בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר לְבִלְתִּי֩ הָבִ֨יא אֹותָ֜ם אֶל־הָאָ֣רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֗תִּי זָבַ֤ת חָלָב֙וּדְבַ֔שׁ צְבִ֥י הִ֖יא לְכָל־הָאֲרָצֹֽות׃

Yet I also lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land that I had given them, a land flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all the lands;

Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;

Also with uplifted hand I swore to them in the desert that I would not bring them into the land I had given them-a land flowing with milk and honey, most beautiful of all lands-

因为他们弃绝我的典章，不遵行我的律例，渎犯我的安息日，他们的心随从自己的偶像。

יַ֜עַן בְּמִשְׁפָּטַ֣י מָאָ֗סוּ וְאֶת־חֻקֹּותַי֙ לֹא־הָלְכ֣וּ בָהֶ֔ם וְאֶת־שַׁבְּתֹותַ֖י חִלֵּ֑לוּ כִּ֛י אַחֲרֵ֥יגִלּוּלֵיהֶ֖ם לִבָּ֥ם הֹלֵֽךְ׃

Because they rejected My ordinances and did not walk in My statutes and profaned My Sabbaths, for their heart went after idols.

Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

Because against My judgments they did kick, And in My statutes they have not walked, And My sabbaths they have polluted, For after their idols their heart is going.

然而，我眼仍顾惜他们，不毁灭他们，不在旷野将他们灭绝净尽。

虽然这样，我的眼还是顾惜他们，不毁灭他们；我没有在旷野把他们灭绝。

וַתָּ֧חָס עֵינִ֛י עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם מִֽשַּׁחֲתָ֑ם וְלֹֽא־עָשִׂ֧יתִי אֹותָ֛ם כָּלָ֖ה בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃

But My eye pitied them, so that I did not destroy them, and I did not bring them to their end in the wilderness.

Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.

But mine eye spared them so as not to destroy them, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.

And Mine eye hath pity on them -- against destroying them, And I have not made of them an end in the wilderness.

Yet I looked on them with pity and did not destroy them or put an end to them in the desert.

我在旷野对他们的儿女说，不要遵行你们父亲的律例，不要谨守他们的规例，也不要因他们的偶像玷污自己。

以后，我在旷野中向他们的后代说：你们不要追随你们祖先的习惯，不要遵行他们的惯例，也不要为他们的偶像所玷污。

וָאֹמַ֤ר אֶל־בְּנֵיהֶם֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר בְּחוּקֵּ֤י אֲבֹֽותֵיכֶם֙ אַל־תֵּלֵ֔כוּ וְאֶת־מִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶ֖ם אַל־תִּשְׁמֹ֑רוּוּבְגִלּוּלֵיהֶ֖ם אַל־תִּטַּמָּֽאוּ׃
R
And I said to their children in the wilderness, Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers or keep their ordinances, and do not defile yourselves with their idols.

But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:

And I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk not in the statutes of your fathers, neither keep their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

And I say to their sons in the wilderness: In the statutes of your fathers ye walk not, And their judgments ye do not observe, And with their idols ye are not defiled.

I said to their children in the desert, "Do not follow the statutes of your fathers or keep their laws or defile yourselves with their idols.

我是耶和华你们的神；你们要遵行我的律例，谨守遵行我的典章；

我是耶和华你们的神，你们要顺从我的律例，谨守遵行我的典章，

我是耶和华你们的神；你们要遵行我的律例，谨守我的典章，把它们实行出来。

我是上主你们的天主；你们应奉行我的法度，谨守我的法律，要一一履行；

我乃是永恒主你们的上帝；我的律例你们要实行，我的典章你们要谨守，

我是雅威──你们的神，你们要顺从我的律例，谨守我的典章，遵行它们，

I am Jehovah your God; walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances and do them;

I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them;

I [am] Jehovah your God: walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them;

I am Jehovah your God, in My statutes walk, And My judgments observe, and do them,
I
I am the LORD your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

且将我的安息日分别为圣，这日在我与你们中间作记号，叫你们知道我是耶和华你们的神。
和
且以我的安息日为圣。这日在我与你们中间为证据，使你们知道我是耶和华你们的神。’
新
你们要把我的安息日分别为圣，作我与你们之间的凭据，使你们知道我是耶和华你们的神。
思
要圣化我的安息日，作为我与你们之间的记号，承认我是上主，你们的天主。

我的安息日你们要守为圣别，作为我与你们之间的凭证，好使你们知道我永恒主乃是你们的上帝。

וְאֶת־שַׁבְּתֹותַ֖י קַדֵּ֑שׁוּ וְהָי֤וּ לְאֹות֙ בֵּינִ֣י וּבֵֽינֵיכֶ֔ם לָדַ֕עַת כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃

And sanctify My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you might know that I am Jehovah your God.

And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.

and hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I [am] Jehovah your God.

And My sabbaths sanctify, And they have been for a sign between Me and you, To know that I, Jehovah, am your God.
I
Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God."

只是他们的儿女悖逆我，不遵行我的律例，也不谨守遵行我的典章（人若遵行这些，就必因这些活着）；他们渎犯我的安息日。我就说，我要将我的忿怒倾倒在他们身上，在旷野向他们发尽我的怒气。

然而他们的后代也背弃了我，没有奉行我的法度，也没有遵守我的法律，即遵行的人可赖以生存的法律，并且也亵渎了我的安息日。我本想在他们身上发泄我的愤怒，在旷野中尽泄我的怒气，

但他们的儿女却叛逆了我，不实行我的律例，不谨守实行我的典章〔就是人若实行，必因此而活着的〕，反而渎犯了我的安息日。“我就心里说我要将我的烈怒倾倒在他们身上，我要在旷野向他们发尽我的忿怒。

But the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes and they were not careful to do My ordinances, by which, if a man does them, he will live; they profaned My Sabbaths. Then I thought to pour out My wrath upon them to spend My anger on them in the wilderness.

Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

然而，我却缩手，为我名的缘故行事，免得我的名在列国人眼前被亵渎；我曾在列国人眼前领他们出来。

Yet I withdrew My hand and did something for My name's sake that it might not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth.

גַּם־אֲנִ֗י נָשָׂ֧אתִי אֶת־יָדִ֛י לָהֶ֖ם בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר לְהָפִ֤יץ אֹתָם֙ בַּגֹּויִ֔ם וּלְזָרֹ֥ות אֹותָ֖ם בָּאֲרָצֹֽות׃
R
I also lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness that I would scatter them among the nations and would disperse them among the countries,

I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;

I lifted up my hand also unto them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;
Y
I also, I have lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, To scatter them among nations, And to spread them through lands.
I

因为他们没有遵守我的典章，弃绝了我的律例，亵渎了我的安息日，他们的眼目注视着他们祖先的偶像。

因为他们没有遵行我的法律，且轻视了我的法度，亵渎了我的安息日，他们的眼目转向了他们祖先的偶像。

因为我的典章他们没有遵行，我的律例他们弃绝了，我的安息日他们渎犯了，他们的眼总是随着他们祖先的偶像。

因为他们不遵行我的典章，竟厌弃我的律例，干犯我的安息日，眼目仰望他们先祖的偶像。

Because they did not do My ordinances, but rejected My statutes and profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were directed to the idols of their fathers.

Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

because they performed not mine ordinances, and rejected my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

Because My judgments they have not done, And My statutes they have despised, And My sabbaths they have polluted, And after idols of their fathers have their eyes been.
I
because they had not obeyed my laws but had rejected my decrees and desecrated my Sabbaths, and their eyes lusted after their fathers' idols.
恢
我也给他们不美的律例，以及不能使人活着的典章；
和
我也任他们遵行不美的律例，谨守不能使人活着的恶规。
新
因此，我也把不好的律例和不能借以存活的典章赐给他们；
思
为此，我容许他们有不良的法度，和不能赖以生存的法律；
吕
因此我也索性给他们不好的律例，给他们不能使人活着的典章；
直
我也任他们遵行不美的律例，谨守不能使人活着的恶规。

וְגַם־אֲנִי֙ נָתַ֣תִּי לָהֶ֔ם חֻקִּ֖ים לֹ֣א טֹובִ֑ים וּמִ֨שְׁפָּטִ֔ים לֹ֥א יִֽחְי֖וּ בָּהֶֽם׃

And I also gave them statutes that were not good and ordinances by which they would not live,

Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;

And I also gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances whereby they should not live;

And I also, I have given to them statutes not good, And judgments by which they do not live.
I
I also gave them over to statutes that were not good and laws they could not live by;

因他们将一切头胎的经火，我就因他们这供献的事定他们为不洁净，好叫他们凄凉，使他们知道我是耶和华。
和
因他们将一切头生的经火，我就任凭他们在这供献的事上玷污自己，好叫他们凄凉，使他们知道我是耶和华。
新
他们使所有头生的都经火作供物，所以我让他们玷污自己，好叫他们惊惶，知道我是耶和华。’
思
并使他们因自己的祭献成为不洁，让他们将头胎所生的，以焚化祭祀，为使他们灭绝；如此，他们要承认我是上主。
吕
因他们使一切首开母胎的孩子经过火而献为祭，我就用他们这些祭献来玷污他们，使他们惊骇；为要使他们知道我乃是永恒主。
直
因他们将一切头生的经火，我就任凭他们在这供献的事上玷污自己，好叫他们凄凉，使他们知道我是雅威。

וָאֲטַמֵּ֤א אֹותָם֙ בְּמַתְּנֹותָ֔ם בְּהַעֲבִ֖יר כָּל־פֶּ֣טֶר רָ֑חַם לְמַ֣עַן אֲשִׁמֵּ֔ם לְמַ֨עַן֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵֽדְע֔וּ אֲשֶׁ֖ראֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ ס

When you offer your gifts-the sacrifice of your sons in the fire-you continue to defile yourselves with all your idols to this day. Am I to let you inquire of me, O house of Israel? As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD , I will not let you inquire of me.

And that which comes up in your spirit shall by no means occur, that which you say, We will be like the nations, like the families of the countries, serving wood and stone.

And I will purge out from among you the rebels and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out from the land of their sojourning, but not one will enter into the land of Israel. Thus you will know that I am Jehovah.

I will purge you of those who revolt and rebel against me. Although I will bring them out of the land where they are living, yet they will not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD .

And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.

Say to the southern forest: 'Hear the word of the LORD . This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am about to set fire to you, and it will consume all your trees, both green and dry. The blazing flame will not be quenched, and every face from south to north will be scorched by it.

Then I said, "Ah, Sovereign LORD ! They are saying of me, 'Isn't he just telling parables?' "
