波斯王居鲁士元年，为应验上主借耶肋米亚的口所说的话，上主感动了波斯王居鲁士的心，叫他出一道号令，并向全国颁发上谕说：

波斯王古列元年、永恒主为要成就他自己的话、从耶利米口中说来的，永恒主就激动了波斯王古列的心（原文：灵），使他将布告传达全国，并且用书面传达说：

波斯王塞鲁士元年，为要应验雅威借耶利米的口(所说)的话，雅威激动波斯王塞鲁士的灵，他就使声音和文件传遍他全部的国度，说：

וּבִשְׁנַ֣ת אַחַ֗ת לְכֹ֨ורֶשׁ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ פָּרַ֔ס לִכְלֹ֥ות דְּבַר־יְהוָ֖ה מִפִּ֣י יִרְמְיָ֑ה הֵעִ֣יר יְהוָ֗ה אֶת־ר֨וּחַ֙כֹּ֣רֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ־פָּרַ֔ס וַיַּֽעֲבֶר־קֹול֙ בְּכָל־מַלְכוּתֹ֔ו וְגַם־בְּמִכְתָּ֖ב לֵאמֹֽר׃

Now in the first year of Cyrus the king of Persia, so that the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Cyrus the king of Persia; and he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and put it also in writing, saying,

And everyone who is left, in whatever place he sojourns, let the men of his place support him with silver and with gold and with goods and with cattle, besides the freewill offering for the house of God, which is in Jerusalem.

Also King Cyrus brought out the vessels of the house of Jehovah, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought out from Jerusalem and had put in the house of his gods;
