וְהָאֲנָשִׁים֙ רֹ֣עֵי צֹ֔אן כִּֽי־אַנְשֵׁ֥י מִקְנֶ֖ה הָ֑יוּ וְצֹאנָ֧ם וּבְקָרָ֛ם וְכָל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר לָהֶ֖ם הֵבִֽיאוּ׃

And the men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of livestock; and they have brought their flocks and their herds and all that they have.

你们就要回答：‘仆人们从幼年直到现在，都是以牧养牲畜为生。我们和我们的祖先都是一样。’这样，你们就可以住在歌珊地，因为埃及人厌恶所有牧羊的人。”

你们要答说：你的仆人们自幼直到现在，都是牧养牲畜的人，我们和我们的祖先都是如此。这样你们才能住在哥笙地方，因为埃及人厌恶一切放羊的人。”

你们要说：‘你仆人从幼年到如今、都是养牲畜的人：我们如此，我们的祖宗也如此’。这样，你们就可以住在歌珊地了，因为凡牧羊的都是埃及人所厌恶的。”

וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֗ם אַנְשֵׁ֨י מִקְנֶ֜ה הָי֤וּ עֲבָדֶ֨יךָ֙ מִנְּעוּרֵ֣ינוּ וְעַד־עַ֔תָּה גַּם־אֲנַ֖חְנוּ גַּם־אֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ בַּעֲב֗וּרתֵּשְׁבוּ֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ גֹּ֔שֶׁן כִּֽי־תֹועֲבַ֥ת מִצְרַ֖יִם כָּל־רֹ֥עֵה צֹֽאן׃

You shall say, Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers; that you may dwell in the land of Goshen, for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.

That ye shall say, Thy servants' trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
