And Abraham was old and advanced in age. And Jehovah had blessed Abraham in all things.

And Abraham said to his servant, the oldest of his house, who ruled over all that he had, Put your hand under my thigh;

And I will make you swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am dwelling.

But you shall go to my country and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son Isaac.

But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.

仆人对亚伯拉罕说：“万一女子不情愿跟我到此地来呢，那我必须将你儿子带回你所由出之地么？”

那仆人对他说：“倘若女子不肯．跟着我来到这地，我要将你的儿子带回…吗？”你从那里所出来之地

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ הָעֶ֔בֶד אוּלַי֙ לֹא־תֹאבֶ֣ה הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה לָלֶ֥כֶת אַחֲרַ֖י אֶל־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֑את הֶֽהָשֵׁ֤ב אָשִׁיב֙אֶת־בִּנְךָ֔ אֶל־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יָצָ֥אתָ מִשָּֽׁם׃
R
And the servant said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I then take your son back to the land from where you came?

And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?

And the servant said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land: must I, then, bring thy son again in any case to the land from which thou hast removed?

And the servant saith unto him, 'It may be the woman is not willing to come after me unto this land; do I at all cause thy son to turn back unto the land from whence thou camest out?'

The servant asked him, "What if the woman is unwilling to come back with me to this land? Shall I then take your son back to the country you came from?"

And Abraham said to him, Be certain not to take my son back there.

And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.

Jehovah, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my birth, and who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, To your seed I will give this land, He will send His angel before you; and you shall take a wife for my son from there.

如果那女子不愿跟你来，我叫你所起的这誓就与你无关了。只是不可带我的儿子回到那里去。”

设若那女子不愿跟你来，你对我起的誓，就与你无涉；无论如何，你不能带我的儿子回到那里去。”

倘若女子不情愿跟你来，我叫你起的誓就与你无干；只不可带我儿子回那里去就是了。

倘若那女子不肯跟你着来，我的这个誓就与你无干了，只是不可带我的儿子回那里去。”

וְאִם־לֹ֨א תֹאבֶ֤ה הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ לָלֶ֣כֶת אַחֲרֶ֔יךָ וְנִקִּ֕יתָ מִשְּׁבֻעָתִ֖י זֹ֑את רַ֣ק אֶת־בְּנִ֔י לֹ֥א תָשֵׁ֖ב שָֽׁמָּה׃
R
And if the woman is not willing to follow you, you shall be free from this oath of mine; only you shall not take my son back there.

And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.

And if the woman be not willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be quit of this my oath: only, bring not my son thither again.

and if the woman be not willing to come after thee, then thou hast been acquitted from this mine oath: only my son thou dost not cause to turn back thither.'
I
If the woman is unwilling to come back with you, then you will be released from this oath of mine. Only do not take my son back there."

So the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master and swore to him concerning this matter.

And the servant took ten camels from the camels of his master and departed, having all kinds of his master's good things in his hand. And he rose up and went to Aram-naharaim, to the city of Nahor.

And he made the camels kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, at the time when women go out to draw water.

他说，耶和华我主人亚伯拉罕的神啊，求你以慈爱待我主人亚伯拉罕，使我今日办事顺利。
和
他说：“耶和华我主人亚伯拉罕的神啊，求你施恩给我主人亚伯拉罕，使我今日遇见好机会。

然后祷告说：“耶和华我主人亚伯拉罕的神啊，求你今日使我遇见好机会，施慈爱给我的主人亚伯拉罕。
思
然后说：“上主、我主人亚巴郎的天主！求你对我主人亚巴郎施行仁慈，今日使我幸运。

他心里祷告说：“永恒主我主人亚伯拉罕的上帝啊，叫我今天遇见好机会吧；求你施慈爱给我主人亚伯拉罕。

他说：“雅威我主人亚伯拉罕的神啊，求你…使我今日遇见

וַיֹּאמַ֓ר׀ יְהוָ֗ה אֱלֹהֵי֙ אֲדֹנִ֣י אַבְרָהָ֔ם הַקְרֵה־נָ֥א לְפָנַ֖י הַיֹּ֑ום וַעֲשֵׂה־חֶ֕סֶד עִ֖ם אֲדֹנִ֥י אַבְרָהָֽם׃
R
And he said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, please grant me success today, and show lovingkindness to my master Abraham.

And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.

And he said, Jehovah, God of my master Abraham, meet me, I pray thee, [with thy blessing] this day, and deal kindly with my master Abraham.

And he saith, 'Jehovah, God of my lord Abraham, cause to meet, I pray Thee, before me this day -- (and do kindness with my lord Abraham;

Then he prayed, "O Lord , God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.

I am standing here by the spring of water as the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water.

我向哪一个少女说，请你拿下水瓶，给我水喝；她若说，请喝，我也给你的骆驼喝；愿她就作你所定，给你仆人以撒的妻子。这样，我便知道你以慈爱待我主人了。
和
我向哪一个女子说：‘请你拿下水瓶来，给我水喝。’她若说：‘请喝，我也给你的骆驼喝。’愿那女子就作你所预定给你仆人以撒的妻。这样，我便知道你施恩给我主人了。”

我对那个少女说：请你放下水罐，让我喝点水。如果她答说：请喝！并且我还要打水给你的骆驼喝，她即是你为你的仆人依撒格预定的少女；由此我知道，你对我主人施行了仁慈。”
吕
我向哪一个少女说：‘请放下你的水瓶来，给我水喝’；她若说：‘请喝；我也要给你的骆驼喝’，愿那少女就做你所审定给你仆人以撒的妻子；这样、我便知道你施慈爱给我主人了。”
直
我向哪一个女子说：‘请妳拿下妳的水瓶来，给我喝。’她若说：‘请喝。我也给你的骆驼喝。’愿她就作你所预定给你仆人以撒的妻，这样，我便知道你施恩给我主人了。”

וְהָיָ֣ה הַֽנַּעֲרָ֗ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֹמַ֤ר אֵלֶ֨יהָ֙ הַטִּי־נָ֤א כַדֵּךְ֙ וְאֶשְׁתֶּ֔ה וְאָמְרָ֣ה שְׁתֵ֔ה וְגַם־גְּמַלֶּ֖יךָ אַשְׁקֶ֑האֹתָ֤הּ הֹכַ֨חְתָּ֙ לְעַבְדְּךָ֣ לְיִצְחָ֔ק וּבָ֣הּ אֵדַ֔ע כִּי־עָשִׂ֥יתָ חֶ֖סֶד עִם־אֲדֹנִֽי׃

And the man gazed fixedly upon her in silence to know whether Jehovah had made his journey prosperous or not.

And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken His lovingkindness and His faithfulness toward my master. As for me, Jehovah has led me in the way to the house of my master's brothers.

利百加有一个哥哥名叫拉班，一看见金环，又看见一对金镯子在他妹妹手上，并听见他妹妹利百加的话说：“那人对我说这样这样”，拉班就跑出来、要到水泉旁边、那人那里；即到了那人那儿，那人还站在骆驼旁边、水泉那里。

וַיְהִ֣י׀ כִּרְאֹ֣ת אֶת־הַנֶּ֗זֶם וְֽאֶת־הַצְּמִדִים֮ עַל־יְדֵ֣י אֲחֹתֹו֒ וּכְשָׁמְעֹ֗ו אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֞י רִבְקָ֤ה אֲחֹתֹו֙לֵאמֹ֔ר כֹּֽה־דִבֶּ֥ר אֵלַ֖י הָאִ֑ישׁ וַיָּבֹא֙ אֶל־הָאִ֔ישׁ וְהִנֵּ֛ה עֹמֵ֥ד עַל־הַגְּמַלִּ֖ים עַל־הָעָֽיִן׃

As soon as he had seen the nose-ring and the bracelets upon his sister's hands, and had heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, This is what the man spoke to me, he went to the man. And there he was, standing by the camels at the spring.

And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.

And it came to pass when he saw the ring and the bracelets on his sister's hand, and when he heard the words of Rebecca his sister, saying, Thus spoke the man to me -- that he came to the man, and behold, he was standing by the camels, by the well.

yea, it cometh to pass, when he seeth the ring, and the bracelets on the hands of his sister, and when he heareth the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, 'Thus hath the man spoken unto me,' that he cometh in unto the man, and lo, he is standing by the camels by the fountain.

As soon as he had seen the nose ring, and the bracelets on his sister's arms, and had heard Rebekah tell what the man said to her, he went out to the man and found him standing by the camels near the spring.

便对他说：“你这蒙雅威赐福的，请进来，为什么站在外边？我已经清理了房屋和给骆驼

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר בֹּ֖וא בְּר֣וּךְ יְהוָ֑ה לָ֤מָּה תַעֲמֹד֙ בַּח֔וּץ וְאָנֹכִי֙ פִּנִּ֣יתִי הַבַּ֔יִת וּמָקֹ֖ום לַגְּמַלִּֽים׃
R
And he said, Come in, O blessed of Jehovah! Why do you stand outside when I have prepared the house and a place for the camels?

And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.

And he said, Come in, blessed of Jehovah! why standest thou outside? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.

And he saith, 'Come in, O blessed one of Jehovah, why standest thou without, and I -- I have prepared the house and place for the camels!'
I
Come, you who are blessed by the Lord , he said. "Why are you standing out here? I have prepared the house and a place for the camels."

R
And the man came into the house, and Laban unloaded the camels. And he gave straw and fodder to the camels and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men who were with him.

And Jehovah has blessed my master greatly, and he has become great. And He has given him flocks and herds, and silver and gold, and male servants and female servants, and camels and donkeys.

R
And Sarah my master's wife bore a son to my master after she had become old. And he has given all that he has to him.

And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath.

And my master made me swear, saying, You shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell.

R
But you shall go to my father's house and to my family, and take a wife for my son.

But thou shalt go unto my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son.

他回答我说：我一向在上主面前行走，他必派遣自己的使者与你同行，使你此行必成功，能由我的同族，我的父家，为我儿子娶妻。

我对我主人说：‘万一那女子不肯跟我来呢？’
直
我对我主人说：‘恐怕那女子不肯跟我来。’

וָאֹמַ֖ר אֶל־אֲדֹנִ֑י אֻלַ֛י לֹא־תֵלֵ֥ךְ הָאִשָּׁ֖ה אַחֲרָֽי׃
R
And I said to my master, Perhaps the woman will not follow me.

And I said unto my master, Peradventure the woman will not follow me.
D
And I said to my master, Perhaps the woman will not follow me?
Y
'And I say unto my lord, It may be the woman doth not come after me;
I
Then I asked my master, 'What if the woman will not come back with me?'

他就对我说，我行事为人都在祂面前的耶和华，必差遣祂的使者与你同去，叫你的道路亨通，你就得以从我本族、我父家，给我儿子娶一个妻子。
和
他就说：‘我所侍奉的耶和华必要差遣他的使者与你同去，叫你的道路通达，你就得以在我父家、我本族那里，给我的儿子娶一个妻子。
新
他回答：‘我行事为人都在他面前的耶和华，必差派他的使者与你同去，使你的道路亨通，你就可以从我的族人和我的父家，给我的儿子娶一个妻子。
思
只要你去了我同族那里，你就履行了对我起的誓；若是他们不给你，你对我起的誓，就与你无涉。
吕
他对我说：‘永恒主、我在他面前往来的、他会差遣他的使者和你一同去，叫你的道路顺利，你就可以从我本族、我父系家属、给我儿子娶妻。
直
他就对我说：‘我所事奉的雅威．必要差遣祂的使者与你同在，叫你的道路通达，你就得以…给我的儿子娶一个妻子。在我父家、我本族那里
原
וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֵלָ֑י יְהוָ֞ה אֲשֶׁר־הִתְהַלַּ֣כְתִּי לְפָנָ֗יו יִשְׁלַ֨ח מַלְאָכֹ֤ו אִתָּךְ֙ וְהִצְלִ֣יחַ דַּרְכֶּ֔ךָ וְלָקַחְתָּ֤אִשָּׁה֙ לִבְנִ֔י מִמִּשְׁפַּחְתִּ֖י וּמִבֵּ֥ית אָבִֽי׃
R
And he said to me, Jehovah, before whom I walk, will send His angel with you and make your journey prosperous. And you shall take a wife for my son from my family, even from my father's house.

And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house:

And he said to me, Jehovah, before whom I have walked, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way, that thou mayest take a wife for my son of my family, and out of my father's house.
Y
and he saith unto me, Jehovah, before whom I have walked habitually, doth send His messenger with thee, and hath prospered thy way, and thou hast taken a wife for my son from my family, and from the house of my father;
I
He replied, 'The Lord , before whom I have walked, will send his angel with you and make your journey a success, so that you can get a wife for my son from my own clan and from my father's family.

只要你到了我本族那里，我使你起的誓就与你无关。他们若不把女子交给你，我使你起的誓也与你无关。
和
只要你到了我本族那里，我使你起的誓就与你无干；他们若不把女子交给你，我使你起的誓也与你无干。’

只要你到了我的族人那里去，我叫你起的誓就与你无关；他们若不把女子交给你，我叫你起的誓也与你无关。’
思
今天我到了水泉那里就说：上主，我主人亚巴郎的天主！惟愿你使我此行成功。

只要你到了我本族那里，我叫你起的誓就与你无干；他们若不把女子交给你，我叫你起的誓也与你无干。’
直
…你就可以免除我的诅咒；只要你到了我本族那里，他们若不把女子交给你，你也可以免除我的诅咒。’

אָ֤ז תִּנָּקֶה֙ מֵאָ֣לָתִ֔י כִּ֥י תָבֹ֖וא אֶל־מִשְׁפַּחְתִּ֑י וְאִם־לֹ֤א יִתְּנוּ֙ לָ֔ךְ וְהָיִ֥יתָ נָקִ֖י מֵאָלָתִֽי׃
R
Then you will be free from my oath, when you come to my family and if they do not give her to you; you will be free from my oath.
K
Then shalt thou be clear from this my oath, when thou comest to my kindred; and if they give not thee one, thou shalt be clear from my oath.
D
Then shalt thou be quit of my oath, when thou shalt have come to my family. And if they give thee not [one], thou shalt be quit of my oath.
Y
then art thou acquitted from my oath, when thou comest unto my family, and if they give not one to thee; then thou hast been acquitted from my oath.
I
Then, when you go to my clan, you will be released from my oath even if they refuse to give her to you-you will be released from my oath.'

我今日到了井旁，便说，耶和华我主人亚伯拉罕的神啊，愿你叫我所行的道路亨通。

看我现在站在泉旁，我对那个出来打水的少女说：请你让我喝点你水罐里的水吧！

今天到了水泉那里，我就心里祷告说：“永恒主我主人亚伯拉罕的上帝啊，你若真地要叫我所走的道路顺利，

“我今日到了井旁，便说：‘雅威我主人亚伯拉罕的神啊，愿你现在叫…我的道路通达。我所行的

וָאָבֹ֥א הַיֹּ֖ום אֶל־הָעָ֑יִן וָאֹמַ֗ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵי֙ אֲדֹנִ֣י אַבְרָהָ֔ם אִם־יֶשְׁךָ־נָּא֙ מַצְלִ֣יחַ דַּרְכִּ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ראָנֹכִ֖י הֹלֵ֥ךְ עָלֶֽיהָ׃
R
And I came today to the spring and said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, if now You will only make my journey on which I go prosperous!

And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go:

And I came this day to the well, and said, Jehovah, God of my master Abraham, if now thou wilt prosper my way on which I go,

'And I come to-day unto the fountain, and I say, Jehovah, God of my lord Abraham, if Thou art, I pray Thee, making prosperous my way in which I am going --

When I came to the spring today, I said, 'O Lord , God of my master Abraham, if you will, please grant success to the journey on which I have come.

我如今站在水井旁，对哪一个出来打水的童女说，请你把你瓶里的水给我一点喝；

我如今站在井旁，对哪一个出来打水的女子说：请你把你瓶里的水给我一点喝。
新
那么，我现在站在水泉旁边，但愿有一个少女出来打水，我要对她说：“请你把瓶里的水给我喝一点。”
思
如果她对我说：请喝，并且我还要打水给你的骆驼喝，她即是上主为我主人的儿子预定的妻子。
吕
那么我如今立在水泉旁边，只愿有个出来打水的童女；我要对她说：‘请将你瓶子里的水一点儿给我喝’；

我如今站在井旁，对哪一个出来打水的女子说，请你让我喝一点你瓶里的水；

הִנֵּ֛ה אָנֹכִ֥י נִצָּ֖ב עַל־עֵ֣ין הַמָּ֑יִם וְהָיָ֤ה הָֽעַלְמָה֙ הַיֹּצֵ֣את לִשְׁאֹ֔ב וְאָמַרְתִּ֣י אֵלֶ֔יהָ הַשְׁקִֽינִי־נָ֥אמְעַט־מַ֖יִם מִכַּדֵּֽךְ׃
R
I am standing here by the spring of water, and may it be that the maiden who comes out to draw water, to whom I will say, Please give me a little water from your pitcher to drink,

Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;

behold, I stand by the well of water, and let it come to pass that the damsel who cometh forth to draw [water], and to whom I shall say, Give me, I pray thee, a little water out of thy pitcher to drink,

(lo, I am standing by the fountain of water), then the virgin who is coming out to draw, and I have said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee, a little water from thy pitcher,
I
See, I am standing beside this spring; if a maiden comes out to draw water and I say to her, "Please let me drink a little water from your jar,"

她若对我说，你只管喝，我也为你的骆驼打水；愿她就作耶和华给我主人儿子所定的妻子。
和
她若说：你只管喝，我也为你的骆驼打水。愿那女子就作耶和华给我主人儿子所预定的妻。’

她若对我说：“你请喝，我还要打水给你的骆驼喝。”愿那女子就作耶和华给我主人的儿子所选定的妻子。’

我心里尚未说完这话，看，黎贝加肩着水罐来了，下到水泉那里打水，我就对她说：请给我一点水喝！
吕
她若对我说：‘不但你请喝，我也要给你的骆驼打水呢’，那么就愿那女子做永恒主给我主人的儿子审定的妻子。”
直
她若对我说：请喝，我也为你的骆驼打水，愿那女子就作…妻子。’雅威给我主人儿子所预定的

וְאָמְרָ֤ה אֵלַי֙ גַּם־אַתָּ֣ה שְׁתֵ֔ה וְגַ֥ם לִגְמַלֶּ֖יךָ אֶשְׁאָ֑ב הִ֣וא הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־הֹכִ֥יחַ יְהוָ֖הלְבֶן־אֲדֹנִֽי׃
R
And she will say to me, Drink, and I will also draw water for your camels, may she be the woman whom Jehovah has appointed for my master's son.

And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master's son.
