And all the assembly of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin by their stages according to the command of Jehovah and encamped in Rephidim, and there was no water for the people to drink.

The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink.

וַיָּ֤רֶב הָעָם֙ עִם־מֹשֶׁ֔ה וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ תְּנוּ־לָ֥נוּ מַ֖יִם וְנִשְׁתֶּ֑ה וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהֶם֙ מֹשֶׁ֔ה מַה־תְּרִיבוּן֙ עִמָּדִ֔ימַה־תְּנַסּ֖וּן אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃

Therefore the people contended with Moses and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said to them, Why are you contending with me? Why do you test Jehovah?

Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?

And the people contended with Moses, and said, Give us water, that we may drink! And Moses said to them, Why do ye dispute with me? Why do ye tempt Jehovah?

and the people strive with Moses, and say, 'Give us water, and we drink.' And Moses saith to them, 'What? -- ye strive with me, what? -- ye try Jehovah?'

So they quarreled with Moses and said, "Give us water to drink." Moses replied, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?"

So the people thirsted there for water, and the people murmured against Moses and said, For what reason did you bring us up out of Egypt; to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?

And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

וַיִּצְעַ֤ק מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֣ה לֵאמֹ֔ר מָ֥ה אֶעֱשֶׂ֖ה לָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֑ה עֹ֥וד מְעַ֖ט וּסְקָלֻֽנִי׃

So Moses cried out to Jehovah, saying, What shall I do with this people? A little more, and they will stone me.

And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.

And Moses cried to Jehovah, saying, What shall I do with this people? Yet a little, and they will stone me!

And Moses crieth to Jehovah, saying, 'What do I to this people? yet a little, and they have stoned me.'

Then Moses cried out to the Lord , "What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me."

雅威对摩西说：“你从百姓面前过去，带以色列的几个长老跟着你。你先前击打河水的杖，要拿在你的手里，去吧！”

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה עֲבֹר֙ לִפְנֵ֣י הָעָ֔ם וְקַ֥ח אִתְּךָ֖ מִזִּקְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּמַטְּךָ֗ אֲשֶׁ֨ר הִכִּ֤יתָ בֹּו֙אֶת־הַיְאֹ֔ר קַ֥ח בְּיָדְךָ֖ וְהָלָֽכְתָּ׃

And Jehovah said to Moses, Pass on before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel; and take in your hand your staff with which you struck the River, and go.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.

And Jehovah said to Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel, and thy staff with which thou didst smite the river, take in thy hand, and go.

The Lord answered Moses, "Walk on ahead of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go.

I will be standing before you there upon the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it so that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

And Moses said to Joshua, Choose men for us, and go out; fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.

And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.

And Moses said to Joshua, Choose us men, and go out, fight with Amalek; to-morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.

and Moses saith unto Joshua, 'Choose for us men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to-morrow I am standing on the top of the hill, and the rod of God in my hand.'

Moses said to Joshua, "Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands."

And when Moses lifted his hand up, Israel prevailed; and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed.

And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

And it came to pass when Moses raised his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

and it hath come to pass, when Moses lifteth up his hand, that Israel hath been mighty, and when he letteth his hands rest, that Amalek hath been mighty.

As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.

But Moses' hands were heavy, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

永恒主对摩西说：“我要将亚玛力这名号从天下全涂抹掉：你要将这话写在卷册上做备忘录，又念给约书亚听。”

雅威对摩西说：“你要将这话写在书上作纪念，又放在约书亚的耳边；我要将亚玛力的名号…全然涂抹了。”从天下

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה כְּתֹ֨ב זֹ֤את זִכָּרֹון֙ בַּסֵּ֔פֶר וְשִׂ֖ים בְּאָזְנֵ֣י יְהֹושֻׁ֑עַ כִּֽי־מָחֹ֤ה אֶמְחֶה֙אֶת־זֵ֣כֶר עֲמָלֵ֔ק מִתַּ֖חַת הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

And Jehovah said to Moses, Write this as a memorial in a book and recite it to Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.

And Jehovah said to Moses, Write this [for] a memorial in the book, and rehearse [it] in the ears of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Write this, a memorial in a Book, and set it in the ears of Joshua, that I do utterly wipe away the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens;'

Then the Lord said to Moses, "Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven."

摩西筑了一座坛，起名叫耶和华尼西；

摩西筑了一座坛，起名叫耶和华尼西（就是“耶和华是我旌旗”的意思）；

摩西筑了一座祭坛，给它起名叫“耶和华尼西”。

梅瑟筑了一座祭坛，给它起名叫“雅威尼息”，

摩西筑了一座祭坛，起名叫‘耶和华尼西’（即‘永恒主是我的旌旗’的意义），

摩西筑了一座坛，起名叫雅威‧尼西，

וַיִּ֥בֶן מֹשֶׁ֖ה מִזְבֵּ֑חַ וַיִּקְרָ֥א שְׁמֹ֖ו יְהוָ֥ה׀ נִסִּֽי׃

And Moses built an altar and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi;

and Moses buildeth an altar, and calleth its name Jehovah-Nissi,

Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner.

又说，因为有手敌挡耶和华的宝座；耶和华必世世代代和亚玛力人争战。

又说：“耶和华已经起了誓，必世世代代和亚玛力人争战。”

摩西又说：“向耶和华的旌旗举手，耶和华必世世代代和亚玛力人争战。”

说：“向上主的旌旗举手，上主必世世代代与阿玛肋克作战。”

说：“我举手指着永恒主的宝座来起誓：永恒主必世世代代跟亚玛力人争战。”

又说：“手放在雅威的宝座上，雅威必世世代代和亚玛力人争战。”

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר כִּֽי־יָד֙ עַל־כֵּ֣ס יָ֔הּ מִלְחָמָ֥ה לַיהוָ֖ה בַּֽעֲמָלֵ֑ק מִדֹּ֖ר דֹּֽר׃ פ

For he said, For there is a hand against the throne of Jah! Jehovah will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

And he said, For the hand is on the throne of Jah; Jehovah will have war with Amalek from generation to generation!

and saith, 'Because a hand is on the throne of Jah, war is to Jehovah with Amalek from generation -- generation.'

He said, "For hands were lifted up to the throne of the Lord . The Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation."
