A man should account us in this way, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

For I am conscious of nothing against myself; but I am not justified in this, but He who examines me is the Lord.

So then do not judge anything before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and make manifest the counsels of the hearts, and then there will be praise to each from God.

Now these things, brothers, I have transferred in figure to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us the matter of not going beyond what has been written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one, against the other.

And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

Now these things, brethren, I have transferred, in their application, to myself and Apollos, for your sakes, that ye may learn in us the [lesson of] not [letting your thoughts go] above what is written, that ye may not be puffed up one for [such a] one against another.

Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.

For who distinguishes you? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though not having received it?

For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

For who makes thee to differ? and what hast thou which thou hast not received? but if also thou hast received, why boastest thou as not receiving?

for who doth make thee to differ? and what hast thou, that thou didst not receive? and if thou didst also receive, why dost thou glory as not having received?

For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

因此我已打发提摩太到你们那里去,他…是我所亲爱、且忠心的儿子。在主里面,他必提醒你们,我在基督里的行为,如同我在各处各教会中教导的。

διὰ τοῦτο ἔπεμψα ὑμῖν Τιμόθεον, ὅς ἐστίν μου τέκνον ἀγαπητὸν καὶ πιστὸν ἐν κυρίῳ, ὃς ὑμᾶς ἀναμνήσει τὰς ὁδούς μου τὰς ἐν Χριστῷ [Ἰησοῦ], καθὼς πανταχοῦ ἐν πάσῃ ἐκκλησίᾳ διδάσκω.

Because of this I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every church.

For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

For this reason I have sent to you Timotheus, who is my beloved and faithful child in [the] Lord, who shall put you in mind of my ways [as] they [are] in Christ, according as I teach everywhere in every assembly.

For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

有人以为我不会到你们那里去,就自高自大。

有些人以为我不会到你们那里去,就傲慢自大;

有些人自吹自大,以为我不去找你们了。

ὡς μὴ ἐρχομένου δέ μου πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐφυσιώθησάν τινες·

Now some have become puffed up as though I were not coming to you.

Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.

But some have been puffed up, as if I were not coming to you;

And as if I were not coming unto you certain were puffed up;
I
Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you.

然而主若愿意,我必快到你们那里去;并且我所要知道的,不是那些自高自大之人的言语,乃是他们的能力。

然而主若许我,我必快到你们那里去;并且我所要知道的,不是那些自高自大之人的言语,乃是他们的权能。

ἐλεύσομαι δὲ ταχέως πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐὰν ὁ κύριος θελήσῃ, καὶ γνώσομαι οὐ τὸν λόγον τῶν πεφυσιωμένων ἀλλὰ τὴν δύναμιν·

But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and I will ascertain not the speech of those who are puffed up but the power.

What do you want? Should I come to you with a rod or in love and a spirit of meekness?

What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

what do ye wish? with a rod shall I come unto you, or in love, with a spirit also of meekness?

What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a whip, or in love and with a gentle spirit?
