Then Jehovah sent Nathan to David. And he went to him and said to him, Two men lived in a city, one rich and the other poor.

But the poor man had nothing but one small ewe lamb, which he had bought. And he nourished it, and it grew up together with him and his children; it ate of the morsels of his food and drank out of his own cup and lay on his bosom; indeed it was like a daughter to him.

And there came a traveler to the rich man. But the rich man refused to take something from his own flock and herd to dress for the wayfarer who had come to him; but he took the poor man's ewe lamb and dressed it for the man who had come to him.

Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him.

And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man. And he said to Nathan, As Jehovah lives, the man who has done this is worthy of death;

And he shall restore the ewe lamb fourfold because he has done this thing and because he had no pity.

Then Nathan said to David, You are the man. Thus says Jehovah the God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul;

Then Nathan said to David, "You are the man! This is what the Lord , the God of Israel, says: 'I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul.

我将你主人的家业赐给你,将你主人的妻妾交在你怀里,又将以色列和犹大家赐给你;这若是太少,还可以多多地加给你。

And I gave you your master's house and your master's wives into your bosom, and I gave you the house of Israel and Judah; and if this were too little, I would have added to you such and such things.

מַדּ֜וּעַ בָּזִ֣יתָ׀ אֶת־דְּבַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה לַעֲשֹׂ֣ות הָרַע֮ בְּעֵינֹו אֵ֣ת אוּרִיָּ֤ה הַֽחִתִּי֙ הִכִּ֣יתָ בַחֶ֔רֶבוְאֶ֨ת־אִשְׁתֹּ֔ו לָקַ֥חְתָּ לְּךָ֖ לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וְאֹתֹ֣ו הָרַ֔גְתָּ בְּחֶ֖רֶב בְּנֵ֥י עַמֹּֽון׃

Why have you despised the word of Jehovah by doing what is evil in His sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and have taken his wife as your wife and have slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.

Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.

'Wherefore hast thou despised the word of Jehovah, to do the evil thing in His eyes? Uriah the Hittite thou hast smitten by the sword, and his wife thou hast taken to thee for a wife, and him thou hast slain by the sword of the Bene-Ammon.

Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.

你既藐视我,娶了赫人乌利亚的妻子为妻,故此刀剑必永不离开你的家。
和
你既藐视我,娶了赫人乌利亚的妻为妻,所以刀剑必永不离开你的家。’

所以,从今以后,刀剑必不离开你的家,因为你藐视了我,娶了赫人乌利亚的妻子作你的妻子。’

从此,刀剑永不离开你家!因为你轻视了我,占取了赫特人乌黎雅的妻子,据为己有。

וְעַתָּ֗ה לֹא־תָס֥וּר חֶ֛רֶב מִבֵּיתְךָ֖ עַד־עֹולָ֑ם עֵ֚קֶב כִּ֣י בְזִתָ֔נִי וַתִּקַּ֗ח אֶת־אֵ֨שֶׁת֙ אוּרִיָּ֣ה הַחִתִּ֔ילִהְיֹ֥ות לְךָ֖ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ ס
R
Now therefore the sword will not depart from your house forever because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.

耶和华如此说,看哪,我必从你家中兴起祸患攻击你;我必在你眼前把你的妻妾赐给与你亲近的人,他必在日光之下与她们同寝。

耶和华如此说:‘我必从你家中兴起祸患攻击你,我必在你眼前把你的妃嫔赐给别人,他在日光之下就与她们同寝。

上主这样说:看,我要由你自己的家里激起灾祸反对你,我要当你的眼前拿你的妻妾给与你的近人,他要在光天化日之下与你的妻妾同寝。

永恒主这么说:‘看吧,我必从你家中兴起祸患来攻击你;我必将你的妃嫔在你眼前赐给你的邻舍;他必在这日光的鉴察下就和你的妃嫔同寝。
直
雅威如此说:‘看哪,我必从你家中兴起祸患攻击你,我必在你眼前把你的妃嫔赐给你的邻舍,他在这日光的眼前就与你的妃嫔同寝;
原
כֹּ֣ה׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה הִנְנִי֩ מֵקִ֨ים עָלֶ֤יךָ רָעָה֙ מִבֵּיתֶ֔ךָ וְלָקַחְתִּ֤י אֶת־נָשֶׁ֨יךָ֙ לְעֵינֶ֔יךָ וְנָתַתִּ֖ילְרֵעֶ֑יךָ וְשָׁכַב֙ עִם־נָשֶׁ֔יךָ לְעֵינֵ֖י הַשֶּׁ֥מֶשׁ הַזֹּֽאת׃

Thus says Jehovah, I will now raise up trouble against you from within your house; and I will take your wives before your eyes and will give them to your companion, and he will lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.

Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.

This is what the Lord says: 'Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity upon you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight.

你在暗中行这事,我却要在全以色列面前,在日光之下施行报应。

For you did this secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel and even before the sun.

For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

for thou hast done it in secret, and I do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.'
I
You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.' "

大卫对拿单说,我得罪耶和华了。拿单说,耶和华已经除掉你的罪,你必不至于死。

大卫对拿单说:“我得罪耶和华了!”拿单说:“耶和华已经除掉你的罪,你必不至于死。

达味对纳堂说:“我得罪了上主!”纳堂对达味说:“上主已赦免了你的罪恶,你不致于死;

大卫对拿单说:“我犯罪得罪了永恒主了。”拿单对大卫说:“永恒主也已不追究你的罪了;你是不至于死的。

And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against Jehovah. And Nathan said to David, Jehovah has also put away your sin; you will not die.

Nevertheless, because you have given the enemies of Jehovah much occasion to blaspheme Him because of this thing, the son who is born to you shall also surely die.

Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

And on the seventh day the child died. And David's servants were afraid to tell him that the child was dead; for they said, While the child was alive, we spoke to him, and he did not listen to our voice; how then can we tell him that the child is dead? He will do himself some harm.

And his servants said to him, What is this thing that you have done? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept; but as soon as the child died, you rose up and ate bread.

His servants asked him, "Why are you acting this way? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept, but now that the child is dead, you get up and eat!"

And he said, While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept; for I thought, Who knows? Jehovah may be gracious to me, and the child may live.

But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not come back to me.

And he brought out the people who were in it and set them under saws and iron cutting tools and iron axes and made them pass through the brick kilns; and thus did he do to all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
