And Ben-hadad the king of Syria assembled all his army together; and there were thirty-two kings with him, as well as horses and chariots. And he went up and besieged Samaria and fought against it.

Your silver and your gold are mine; your best wives and children also are mine.

And the king of Israel answered and said, As you say, O my lord the king, I and all that I have are yours.

And the messengers came again and said, Thus speaks Ben-hadad, saying, I sent word to you, saying, You shall give me your silver and your gold and your wives and your children;

And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Benhadad, saying, Although I have sent unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;

And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaks Ben-Hadad saying: I sent to thee indeed, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;

And the messengers turn back and say, 'Thus spake Ben-Hadad, saying, Surely I sent unto thee, saying, Thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy sons, to me thou dost give;

The messengers came again and said, "This is what Ben-Hadad says: 'I sent to demand your silver and gold, your wives and your children.

但明日约在这时候,我还要差遣我的臣仆到你那里,搜查你的家和你仆人的家;凡你眼中所喜爱的,他们都要下手拿去。

R
But tomorrow at this time I will send my servants to you, and they will search your house and your servants' houses; and whatever is pleasant in your sight, they will put in their hand and take away.

Yet I will send my servants unto thee to morrow about this time, and they shall search thine house, and the houses of thy servants; and it shall be, that whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away.

but to-morrow about this time I will send my servants to thee, and they shall search thy house, and the houses of thy servants; and it shall be, that whatsoever is pleasant in thy sight, they shall put in their hand and take away.

for if, at this time to-morrow, I send my servants unto thee then they have searched thy house, and the houses of thy servants, and it hath been, every desirable thing of thine eyes they place in their hand, and have taken away.'
I
But about this time tomorrow I am going to send my officials to search your palace and the houses of your officials. They will seize everything you value and carry it away.' "

以色列王召了那地所有的长老来,说,请你们看看,这人是怎样地设法害我;他先差遣人到我这里来,要我的妻子、儿女和金银,我并没有拒绝他。

וַיִּקְרָ֤א מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְכָל־זִקְנֵ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר֙ דְּעֽוּ־נָ֣א וּרְא֔וּ כִּ֥י רָעָ֖ה זֶ֣ה מְבַקֵּ֑שׁ כִּֽי־שָׁלַ֨חאֵלַ֜י לְנָשַׁ֤י וּלְבָנַי֙ וּלְכַסְפִּ֣י וְלִזְהָבִ֔י וְלֹ֥א מָנַ֖עְתִּי מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃
R
And the king of Israel called all the elders of the land and said, Look now, and see how this man seeks trouble; for he sent word to me for my wives and my children and my silver and my gold; and I did not deny him.

Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you, and see how this man seeketh mischief: for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I denied him not.

The king of Israel summoned all the elders of the land and said to them, "See how this man is looking for trouble! When he sent for my wives and my children, my silver and my gold, I did not refuse him."

And all the elders and all the people said to him, Do not listen to him, nor shall you give consent.

And all the elders and all the people said unto him, Hearken not unto him, nor consent.

And all the elders and all the people said to him, Hearken not, nor consent.

And all the elders and all the people say unto him, 'Do not hearken, nor consent.'

The elders and the people all answered, "Don't listen to him or agree to his demands."

故此,以色列王对便哈达的使者说,你们告诉我主我王说,你头一次差遣人向仆人所要的,我都照办;但这次所要的,我不能照办。使者就去将话回复便哈达。
和
故此,以色列王对便哈达的使者说:“你们告诉我主我王说:王头一次差遣人向仆人所要的,仆人都依从,但这次所要的,我不能依从。”使者就去回复便哈达。

于是亚哈对便.哈达的使者说:“请你们告诉我主我王说:‘王第一次差派人来向你仆人所要的一切,我都必照办;可是这次所要的,我却不能照办。’”于是使者去了,把这些话回复便.哈达。

因此,他对本哈达得的使者说:“你们回去告诉我主大王说:你第一次派人向你仆人所要求的,我必全照办;至于这另一要求,我却不能照办。”使者遂回去,向本哈达得回话。

于是王对便哈达的使者说:“请对我主我王说:‘王头一次差遣人向仆人所要的、我都要照办;惟独这次所要的、我却不能照办。’”使者们就去,将这话去回复。

וַיֹּ֜אמֶר לְמַלְאֲכֵ֣י בֶן־הֲדַ֗ד אִמְר֞וּ לַֽאדֹנִ֤י הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ כֹּל֩ אֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַ֨חְתָּ אֶל־עַבְדְּךָ֤ בָרִֽאשֹׁנָה֙אֶעֱשֶׂ֔ה וְהַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה לֹ֥א אוּכַ֖ל לַעֲשֹׂ֑ות וַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙ הַמַּלְאָכִ֔ים וַיְשִׁבֻ֖הוּ דָּבָֽר׃
R
And he said to the messengers of Ben-hadad, Tell my lord the king, All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do; but this thing I cannot do. And the messengers departed and brought word back to him.

Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Benhadad, Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.

And he said to the messengers of Ben-Hadad, Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first I will do; but this thing I cannot do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.

And he saith to the messengers of Ben-Hadad, 'Say to my lord the king, All that thou didst send for unto thy servant at the first I do, and this thing I am not able to do;' and the messengers go and take him back word.
I
So he replied to Ben-Hadad's messengers, "Tell my lord the king, 'Your servant will do all you demanded the first time, but this demand I cannot meet.' " They left and took the answer back to Ben-Hadad.

便哈达又差遣人来见亚哈说:“撒玛利亚的尘土若够跟从我的人每人捧一捧的,愿神明这样惩罚我,并且加倍地惩罚。”

וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח אֵלָיו֙ בֶּן־הֲדַ֔ד וַיֹּ֕אמֶר כֹּֽה־יַעֲשׂ֥וּן לִ֛י אֱלֹהִ֖ים וְכֹ֣ה יֹוסִ֑פוּ אִם־יִשְׂפֹּק֙ עֲפַ֣ר שֹׁמְרֹ֔וןלִשְׁעָלִ֕ים לְכָל־הָעָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּרַגְלָֽי׃
R
And Ben-hadad sent word to him and said, The gods do so to me and even more, if the dust of Samaria will provide even a handful for all the people who follow me!

And Benhadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.

And Ben-Hadad sent to him and said, The gods do so to me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me!
Y
And Ben-Hadad sendeth unto him, and saith, 'Thus do the gods to me, and thus do they add, if the dust of Samaria suffice for handfuls for all the people who are at my feet.'
I
Then Ben-Hadad sent another message to Ahab: "May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if enough dust remains in Samaria to give each of my men a handful."

וַיַּ֤עַן מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר דַּבְּר֔וּ אַל־יִתְהַלֵּ֥ל חֹגֵ֖ר כִּמְפַתֵּֽחַ׃

And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him who puts on his armor boast like him who takes it off.

And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.

And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell [him], Let not him that girdeth on boast himself as he that putteth off!
Y
And the king of Israel answereth and saith, 'Speak ye: let not him who is girding on boast himself as him who is loosing his armour.'
I
The king of Israel answered, "Tell him: 'One who puts on his armor should not boast like one who takes it off.' "

וַיְהִ֗י כִּשְׁמֹ֨עַ֙ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה וְה֥וּא שֹׁתֶ֛ה ה֥וּא וְהַמְּלָכִ֖ים בַּסֻּכֹּ֑ות וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֶל־עֲבָדָיו֙ שִׂ֔ימוּוַיָּשִׂ֖ימוּ עַל־הָעִֽיר׃
R
And when he heard this word, as he and the kings in the tents were drinking, he said to his servants, Set yourselves in position. And they set themselves in position against the city.

And it came to pass, when Benhadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves in array. And they set themselves in array against the city.

And it came to pass when he heard this word, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the tents, that he said to his servants, Set yourselves. And they set themselves against the city.
Y
And it cometh to pass at the hearing of this word -- and he is drinking, he and the kings, in the booths -- that he saith unto his servants, 'Set yourselves;' and they set themselves against the city.
I
Ben-Hadad heard this message while he and the kings were drinking in their tents, and he ordered his men: "Prepare to attack." So they prepared to attack the city.

这时,忽然有一个先知,来见以色列王阿哈布说:“上主这样说:你不是看见这支强大的军队吗?今天,我要将他们交在你手中,叫你知道我是上主。”
吕
这时忽有一个神言人走近前来见以色列王亚哈说:“这一大队蜂拥军兵你不是都看见了么?看吧,今天我必将他们交在你手里,你就知道我乃是永恒主。”

看哪,有一个先知来到以色列王亚哈那里,说:“雅威如此说:‘这一大群人你全都看见了吗?看哪,我今日必将他交在你手里,你就知道我是雅威。’”

וְהִנֵּ֣ה׀ נָבִ֣יא אֶחָ֗ד נִגַּשׁ֮ אֶל־אַחְאָ֣ב מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הְֽרָאִ֔יתָ אֵ֛תכָּל־הֶהָמֹ֥ון הַגָּדֹ֖ול הַזֶּ֑ה הִנְנִ֨י נֹתְנֹ֤ו בְיָֽדְךָ֙ הַיֹּ֔ום וְיָדַעְתָּ֖ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
R
Then at that moment a certain prophet approached Ahab the king of Israel and said, Thus says Jehovah, Have you seen all this great multitude? I am now delivering it into your hand today, and you will know that I am Jehovah.

And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

And behold, a prophet drew near to Ahab king of Israel, and said, Thus saith Jehovah: Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thy hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah.

And the men were looking for some sign and quickly caught what came from him; and they said, Ben-hadad is your brother. And he said, Go and bring him. And Ben-hadad came forth to him, and he brought him up into the chariot.

Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother Benhadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Benhadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

And the men took it as a good omen, and hastened to catch what came from him, and they said, Thy brother Ben-Hadad. ... And he said, Go, bring him. And Ben-Hadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

And the men observe diligently, and hasten, and catch it from him, and say, 'Thy brother Ben-Hadad;' and he saith, 'Go ye in, bring him;' and Ben-Hadad cometh out unto him, and he causeth him to come up on the chariot.

The men took this as a good sign and were quick to pick up his word. "Yes, your brother Ben-Hadad!" they said. "Go and get him," the king said. When Ben-Hadad came out, Ahab had him come up into his chariot.

I will return the cities my father took from your father, Ben-Hadad offered. "You may set up your own market areas in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria." Ahab said, "On the basis of a treaty I will set you free." So he made a treaty with him, and let him go.

Then he said to him, Because you have not listened to the voice of Jehovah, as soon as you depart from me, the lion will strike you down. And when he had departed from him, the lion found him and struck him down.

Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him.

Then said he to him, Because thou hast not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah, behold, when thou departest from me, the lion will slay thee. And when he had departed from him, the lion found him and slew him.

and he saith to him, 'Because that thou hast not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah, lo, thou art going from me, and the lion hath smitten thee;' and he goeth from him, and the lion findeth him, and smiteth him.

So the prophet said, "Because you have not obeyed the Lord , as soon as you leave me a lion will kill you." And after the man went away, a lion found him and killed him.

Then he found another man and said, Strike me. And the man struck him violently and wounded him.

And the prophet departed and waited for the king by the way, and he disguised himself with a bandage over his eyes.

And when the king passed by, he cried out to the king and said, Your servant went out into the midst of the battle; and then a man turned aside and brought another man to me and said, Guard this man; if he is missing at all, your life will be for his life, or you will pay a talent of silver.

As the king passed by, the prophet called out to him, "Your servant went into the thick of the battle, and someone came to me with a captive and said, 'Guard this man. If he is missing, it will be your life for his life, or you must pay a talent of silver.'

וַיְהִ֣י עַבְדְּךָ֗ עֹשֵׂ֥ה הֵ֛נָּה וָהֵ֖נָּה וְה֣וּא אֵינֶ֑נּוּ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֧יו מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל כֵּ֥ן מִשְׁפָּטֶ֖ךָ אַתָּ֥החָרָֽצְתָּ׃
R
And because your servant was doing things here and there, he got away. And the king of Israel said to him, So be your judgment; you have determined it yourself.

While your servant was busy here and there, the man disappeared." "That is your sentence," the king of Israel said. "You have pronounced it yourself."

וַיְמַהֵ֕ר וַיָּ֨סַר֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֲפֵ֔ר מֵעַל עֵינָ֑יו וַיַּכֵּ֤ר אֹתֹו֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֥י מֵֽהַנְּבִאִ֖ים הֽוּא׃
R
Then he quickly took the bandage away from over his eyes; and the king of Israel recognized that he was one of the prophets.

And he hasted, and took the ashes away from his face; and the king of Israel discerned him that he was of the prophets.

And he hasteth and turneth aside the ashes from off his eyes, and the king of Israel discerneth him, that he is of the prophets,

Then the prophet quickly removed the headband from his eyes, and the king of Israel recognized him as one of the prophets.

他对王说,耶和华如此说,因你将我定要灭绝的人从你手中放去,你的命就必代替他的命,你的民也必代替他的民。

先知对王说:“耶和华这样说:因为你把我要灭绝的人从你手中放走,所以要你替他偿命。要你的人民抵偿他的人民。”

先知对君王说:“上主这样说:你既然亲手放走了我所要消灭的人,所以你要替他偿命,你的人民必要抵偿他的人民。”
吕
他便对王说:“永恒主这么说:‘因为你将我要杀灭归神的人从你手中放走,故此你的性命就必须代替他的牲命,你的人民就必须代替他的人民。’”
直
他对他说:“雅威如此说:‘因你将我定意要灭绝的人从手中放走,你的命必代替他的命,你的民也必代替他的民。’”

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֗יו כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה יַ֛עַן שִׁלַּ֥חְתָּ אֶת־אִישׁ־חֶרְמִ֖י מִיָּ֑ד וְהָיְתָ֤ה נַפְשְׁךָ֙ תַּ֣חַת נַפְשֹׁ֔ווְעַמְּךָ֖ תַּ֥חַת עַמֹּֽו׃
R
And he said to him, Thus says Jehovah, Because you have released out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, your life shall be for his life, and your people for his people.

And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.

And he said to him, Thus saith Jehovah: Because thou hast let go out of thy hand the man that I had devoted to destruction, thy life shall be for his life, and thy people for his people.

and he saith unto him, 'Thus said Jehovah, Because thou hast sent away the man I devoted, out of thy hand, even thy life hath been for his life, and thy people for his people;'
I
He said to the king, "This is what the Lord says: 'You have set free a man I had determined should die. Therefore it is your life for his life, your people for his people.' "
