哈曼不屑只下手害末底改一人，因他们已将末底改的本族告诉他，所以他想要灭绝亚哈随鲁王通国所有的犹大人，就是末底改的本族。

他们已将末底改的本族告诉哈曼，他以为下手害末底改一人是小事，就要灭绝亚哈随鲁王通国所有的犹大人，就是末底改的本族。

他以为只下手对付末底改一人还是小事，因为有人把末底改的本族告诉了哈曼；所以哈曼设法要把亚哈随鲁王全国所有的犹大人，与末底改一起消灭。

心想只杀害摩尔德开一人，还不足泄恨，因为人向他告诉了摩尔德开的身世；于是哈曼打算把薛西斯王整个帝国内的一切犹太人，和摩尔德开一起杀尽灭绝。

他们既把末底改属哪一民族的事告诉了哈曼，哈曼就以为单下手害末底改一人是有损了威风，就想法子要将亚哈随鲁王全国所有的犹大人、末底改的本族、都消灭掉。

在他的眼中，单只伸手害末底改算是渺小的事；由于人们已将末底改的本族告诉他，哈曼想要灭绝…所有的犹大人，亚哈随鲁全国度中．(也就是)末底改的本族。

וַיִּ֣בֶז בְּעֵינָ֗יו לִשְׁלֹ֤ח יָד֙ בְּמָרְדֳּכַ֣י לְבַדֹּ֔ו כִּֽי־הִגִּ֥ידוּ לֹ֖ו אֶת־עַ֣ם מָרְדֳּכָ֑י וַיְבַקֵּ֣שׁ הָמָ֗ן לְהַשְׁמִ֧ידאֶת־כָּל־הַיְּהוּדִ֛ים אֲשֶׁ֛ר בְּכָל־מַלְכ֥וּת אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹ֖ושׁ עַ֥ם מָרְדֳּכָֽי׃

But he disdained to lay hands on Mordecai alone, for they had told him who the people of Mordecai were; therefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews, the people of Mordecai, who were throughout the kingdom of Ahasuerus.

Yet having learned who Mordecai's people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai's people, the Jews, throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes.

亚哈随鲁王十二年正月，就是尼散月，人在哈曼面前，按日子和月分掣普珥，就是掣签，择定了十二月，就是亚达月。

哈曼对亚哈随鲁王说：“有一族之民散居在王国内各省各族之民间，而又自己隔开：他们的法例跟各族的法例不同；王的法例他们也不遵行；所以由着他们、对于王最不妥当。

哈曼对亚哈随鲁王说：“有一种人民散布，分散．在你国度各省的民族中；他们的律例与各民族不同，他们也不遵守王的律例，所以容留他们与王(的利益)不相符。

And Haman said to King Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered and dispersed among the peoples throughout all the provinces of your kingdom; and their laws differ from those of all the people, nor do they keep the king's laws. Therefore it is not fitting for the king to let them remain.

王若以为美，请让(谕旨)写下灭绝他们；我就秤一万他连得银子．交给掌管国帑的人，纳入王的府库。”

If it please the king, let it be decreed in writing that they be destroyed, and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver into the hands of those who have charge of the king's affairs, that they may bring it into the king's treasuries.

Then the king took his signet ring from his hand and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews' enemy.

And the king said to Haman, The silver has been given to you, as well as the people, to do with them as it seems good to you.

正月十三日王的书记们就被召了来，照哈曼一切所吩咐的，写下了敕令、给王的众藩臣，给一省一省的巡抚，给一族一族的首领；一省一省用自己的文字，一族一族用自己的方言；奉亚哈随鲁王的名写的，又用王的打印戒指盖上了印的。

…王的书记被召来，正月十三日，照着哈曼一切所吩咐的写下，传与王的总督．和各省的省长，并各族的首领；用各省的自己的文字、各族自己的的语言，(谕旨)奉亚哈随鲁王的名写下，又用王的戒指盖上印。

Then the king's scribes were summoned in the first month, on the thirteenth day of the month; and it was decreed in writing, according to all that Haman commanded, to the king's satraps and to the governors who were over each province and to the princes of every people, to each province in its own script and to each people in their own tongue; in the name of King Ahasuerus was it written, and it was sealed with the king's signet ring.

Then on the thirteenth day of the first month the royal secretaries were summoned. They wrote out in the script of each province and in the language of each people all Haman's orders to the king's satraps, the governors of the various provinces and the nobles of the various peoples. These were written in the name of King Xerxes himself and sealed with his own ring.

诏书由驿卒送达王的各省，吩咐要将所有的犹大人，无论老少妇女孩子，在一日之间，在十二月，就是亚达月十三日，全然歼毁，杀戮灭绝，并夺他们的财物为掠物。

诏书由跑文书的人经手送到王的各省，说要在一日之间、在十二月、就是亚达月、十三日，将所有的犹大人、无论老少幼小或妇女、全都消灭屠杀灭尽，并且夺取他们的资财作为掠物。

信交在驿卒的手，送．到王的各省，要…毁灭、杀害、灭绝所有的犹大人，从少到老，(不论)孩子或妇女，在一日之间，在十二月…的十三日，它就是亚达月．并且掠夺他们的财物。

And letters were sent by couriers to all the king's provinces to destroy, to slay, and to annihilate all the Jews, both young and old, children and women, in one day, that is, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to plunder their spoil.

The couriers went out, driven in haste by the king's command; and the decree was issued in Susa the capital. And the king and Haman sat down to drink, but the city of Susa was in confusion.

The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.

朕今咨询枢密，何以克遂此愿。而哈曼首相，秉赋忠贞，信智超群，

上奏朕曰：有一败类，散居天下万邦，风俗律法，与天下异，且不从王法，使朕所颁政令，难奏厥功。

今朕始悉其端，惟此民族，与众殊异，固守己法，生活异趣，对朕天下，实存野心，致力破坏，是以国家不获安宁。

因此朕令：凡当今首相──朕之亚父哈曼──在文书内所示之人物，务于本年十二月即“阿达尔”月十四日，偕其妻孥子女，应一律刀斩，歼灭九族，不得留情顾惜。

务使古今败类，于一日之间，悉葬身九泉，然后国必永安，乱事方息。”

谕文应在各省公布，通知天下人民，准备应付这一天。

驿使因迫于君令，就迅速出发；在稣撒禁城里立即公布了这道上谕。此时君王与哈曼同席共饮；但是稣撒全城却陷于混乱。
