Then in the seventh year Jehoiada sent word and gathered the captains of the hundreds over the Carites and over the guards and brought them to him at the house of Jehovah. And he made a covenant with them and put them under an oath in the house of Jehovah, then showed them the king's son.

And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that you shall do: A third of you who come on duty on the Sabbath shall keep watch over the king's house;

וְהִקַּפְתֶּ֨ם עַל־הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ סָבִ֗יב אִ֚ישׁ וְכֵלָ֣יו בְּיָדֹ֔ו וְהַבָּ֥א אֶל־הַשְּׂדֵרֹ֖ות יוּמָ֑ת וִהְי֥וּ אֶת־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְבְּצֵאתֹ֥ו וּבְבֹאֹֽו׃

And you shall surround the king, each man with his weapons in his hand; and whoever enters the ranks shall be put to death; and you shall be with the king in his goings and comings.

And ye shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand: and he that cometh within the ranges, let him be slain: and be ye with the king as he goeth out and as he cometh in.

Station yourselves around the king, each man with his weapon in his hand. Anyone who approaches your ranks must be put to death. Stay close to the king wherever he goes."

וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֞וּ שָׂרֵ֣י הַמֵּאיֹות כְּכֹ֣ל אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה֮ יְהֹויָדָ֣ע הַכֹּהֵן֒ וַיִּקְחוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־אֲנָשָׁ֔יו בָּאֵ֣י הַשַּׁבָּ֔תעִ֖ם יֹצְאֵ֣י הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ אֶל־יְהֹויָדָ֥ע הַכֹּהֵֽן׃

And the captains of the hundreds did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded them. And each took his men, those who came on duty on the Sabbath with those who went off duty on the Sabbath; and they came to Jehoiada the priest.

The commanders of units of a hundred did just as Jehoiada the priest ordered. Each one took his men-those who were going on duty on the Sabbath and those who were going off duty-and came to Jehoiada the priest.

And the priest gave the spears and shields that had belonged to King David, which were in the house of Jehovah, to the captains of the hundreds.

And to the captains over hundreds did the priest give king David's spears and shields, that were in the temple of the LORD.

וַיַּעַמְד֨וּ הָרָצִ֜ים אִ֣ישׁ׀ וְכֵלָ֣יו בְּיָדֹ֗ו מִכֶּ֨תֶף הַבַּ֤יִת הַיְמָנִית֙ עַד־כֶּ֤תֶף הַבַּ֨יִת֙ הַשְּׂמָאלִ֔יתלַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ וְלַבָּ֑יִת עַל־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ סָבִֽיב׃

And the guards stood, each man with his weapons in his hand, from the right flank of the house to the left flank of the house, by the altar and by the house, to guard the king all around.

祭司把王子领了出来，给他戴上王冠，将王徽（或译：律法书）交给他，称他为王，用膏膏他；来管理；众人就拍掌说：愿王万岁！”

祭司领王的儿子出来，给他冠冕和见证书，他们膏他，立他作王；他们就击掌说：“愿王万岁！”

And he brought the king's son out and put the crown on him and gave him the testimony. And they made him king and anointed him, and they clapped their hands and said, Long live the king!

Jehoiada brought out the king's son and put the crown on him; he presented him with a copy of the covenant and proclaimed him king. They anointed him, and the people clapped their hands and shouted, "Long live the king!"

Now when Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she went to the people at the house of Jehovah.

When Athaliah heard the noise made by the guards and the people, she went to the people at the temple of the Lord .

她观看，看哪，王照律例站在柱旁，百夫长(带着)号角在王旁边，国中的众百姓都欢乐吹号；亚她利雅就撕裂自己的衣服，喊着：“反了！反了！”

And she looked, and there was the king, standing by the pillar, according to the custom, with the captains and the trumpets near the king. And all the people of the land rejoiced and blew the trumpets. And Athaliah tore her clothes and cried out, Treason! Treason!

And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason.

She looked and there was the king, standing by the pillar, as the custom was. The officers and the trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her robes and called out, "Treason! Treason!"

祭司耶何耶大吩咐管辖军兵的百夫长说，将她赶出班外，凡跟随她的必用刀杀死；因为祭司说，她不可在耶和华的殿里被杀。

耶何耶大祭司吩咐众百夫长，就是统领军兵的，对他们说：“把她从各班军兵中赶出去，跟随她的，都要用刀杀死。”因为祭司说：“不可在耶和华的殿内杀死她。”

约雅达司祭即吩咐带领军队的众百夫长说：“将她从行列中赶出去，凡跟随她的，都用刀杀死。”原来司祭曾吩咐说：不可在上主的殿内杀她。

And Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds who had been set over the army and said to them, Bring her out between the ranks, and anyone who follows her kill with a sword; for the priest said, She shall not be killed in the house of Jehovah.

וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ כָל־עַם֩ הָאָ֨רֶץ בֵּית־הַבַּ֜עַל וַֽיִּתְּצֻ֗הוּ אֶת־מִזְבְּחֹתֹו וְאֶת־צְלָמָיו֙ שִׁבְּר֣וּ הֵיטֵ֔ב וְאֵ֗תמַתָּן֙ כֹּהֵ֣ן הַבַּ֔עַל הָרְג֖וּ לִפְנֵ֣י הַֽמִּזְבְּחֹ֑ות וַיָּ֧שֶׂם הַכֹּהֵ֛ן פְּקֻדֹּ֖ות עַל־בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

And all the people of the land went to the house of Baal and broke it down: The altars to him and his images they shattered to pieces, and they slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of Jehovah.

All the people of the land went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and idols to pieces and killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars. Then Jehoiada the priest posted guards at the temple of the Lord .

And Jehoiada gathered the captains of the hundreds and the Carites and the guards and all the people of the land. And they brought the king down from the house of Jehovah and came by way of the guard gate to the house of the king, and he sat upon the throne of the kings.

And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the LORD, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king's house. And he sat on the throne of the kings.

He took with him the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, the guards and all the people of the land, and together they brought the king down from the temple of the Lord and went into the palace, entering by way of the gate of the guards. The king then took his place on the royal throne,

And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet; for they had slain Athaliah with the sword at the house of the king.
