因为在他里头有美好的灵，又有知识聪明，能圆梦，释谜语，解难题，这人名叫但以理，尼布甲尼撒王称他为伯提沙撒；现在可以把但以理召来，他必讲解说明。

就因为在他身上具有一种卓越的精神、学识和聪敏，能详解梦境，释谜破惑；君王就将达尼尔的名字改作贝耳特沙匝。现在就召达尼尔前来，他必能说出其中的意义。”

都因为在他里头、在但以理心里、有非常高超之灵，有知识，有通达，能讲明梦的解析，能释谜语，能解难题的结──这但以理、王又给他起名叫伯提沙撒：现在可以把但以理召来；他一定能把解析讲明白。”

Because an excellent spirit and knowledge and insight, and the interpretation of dreams, the declaring of riddles, and the resolving of problems were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Let Daniel now be called, and he will declare the interpretation.

Then Daniel was brought before the king. The king responded and said to Daniel, Are you Daniel, one of the captives of Judah, whom my forefather the king brought from Judah?

Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?

因神所赐他的尊大，各族、各国、各方言的人，都在他面前战兢恐惧，他可以随意生杀，随意升降。

因于上帝所赐给他的大权、各族之民、列国之民、各种方言的人就都在他面前战兢恐惧：他喜欢杀谁、就杀谁，喜欢让谁活着、就让谁活着，他喜欢让谁升高、就让谁升高，喜欢让谁降低、就让谁降低。

因神所赐他的大权，各方、各国、各族的人．都在他面前恐惧战兢，因他可以随意杀，随意使人生，随意使人高升，随意使人降卑。

他被赶逐离开人类；他的心变如走兽的心；他的住处同野驴在一起；他受迫而吃草如牛；他的身体被天露滴湿，等到他承认至高上帝在人国中掌权，都随着自己的意旨立人来管理。

他被赶出离开世人，他的心变成像兽一样，他的住处与与野驴在一起，像牛一样以草为食，身被天露滴湿，等他知道至高的神…掌权，在人的国中凭自己的意旨立人治理它(指国)。

And he was driven from the sons of men, and his heart was made like that of the beasts, and his dwelling place was with the wild donkeys; men fed him with grass as they do bulls, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, until he came to know that God the Most High is the Ruler over the kingdom of men and sets over it whomever He wills.

He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like cattle; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and sets over them anyone he wishes.

And you his descendant, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this;

竟向天上的主自高，使人将祂殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和大臣、王后、妃嫔用这些器皿饮酒；你又赞美那不能看、不能听，无知无识，用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所造的神；却没有将尊荣归与那手中有你气息，管理你一切道路的神；

竟高抬自己，敌对天上的主，使人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前来，你和你的大臣、妻妾、妃嫔用这些器皿喝酒；你又赞美那些不能看见、不能听见、什么都不能知道，用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所做的神，却没有把荣耀归给那手中有你的气息，和那掌管你一切命途的神。

反而自高自大，抵抗上天的大主，命人将他殿宇的器皿给你拿来，供你和你的大臣并你的妻妾用来饮酒，并且你赞美那些不能看，不能听，不能知的金、银、铜、铁、木、石制的神像，却不知尊崇那掌握你的气息，注定你一切命途的天主。

竟对着天上的主高抬自己，叫人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和你大臣、王后、妃嫔竟用这些器皿来喝酒；你又称颂那些金银铜铁、木头石头的神，就是那些不能看、不能听、不能知道的；至于你手中执掌你气息、那管理你一生行程的上帝、你却不将尊荣归与他。

竟向天上的主自高，使人将他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和大臣、皇后和妃嫔．用它们(指这器皿)饮酒。…金、银、…所造的神，铜、铁、木、石(放上行右边)…那不能看、不能听、毫无知识的(放上二行左边)你又赞美…那手中有你气息，…的神。你一切行动都在于他却没有将荣耀归与(放上二行左边)

Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.

因此从神面前差出手指头来，写这文字。
