I will stand at my watch / And station myself on the fortress, / And I will watch to see what He will speak to me / And what I will reply concerning my complaint.

Then Jehovah answered me and said, Write the vision, and render it plainly upon tablets, / That even he who runs by may read it.

For the vision is yet for the appointed time, / And it hastens toward the end and will not lie. / Though it tarries, wait for it; / For it will surely come; it will not delay.

然而，那因酒诡诈，狂傲之人，不住在家中，扩充欲望好像阴间，又像死亡不能知足，却聚集万国，堆积万民，都归自己。

迦勒底人因酒诡诈、狂傲，不住在家中，扩充心欲好像阴间。他如死不能知足，聚集万国，堆积万民都归自己。

Furthermore his wine is treacherous: / A boasting man, he does not abide at home, / He who enlarges his appetite like Sheol, / And is like death and cannot be satisfied, / But gathers to himself all the nations / And collects for himself all the peoples.

Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:

And moreover, the wine is treacherous: he is a proud man, and keepeth not at rest, he enlargeth his desire as Sheol, and he is like death and cannot be satisfied; and he assembleth unto him all nations, and gathereth unto him all peoples.

And also, because the wine is treacherous, A man is haughty, and remaineth not at home, Who hath enlarged as sheol his soul, And is as death that is not satisfied, And doth gather unto itself all the nations, And doth assemble unto itself all the peoples,

indeed, wine betrays him; he is arrogant and never at rest. Because he is as greedy as the grave and like death is never satisfied, he gathers to himself all the nations and takes captive all the peoples.

这些国的民岂不都要提起比喻，就是讥诮歌和谜语，指着他说，祸哉，那增添不属自己之财物，满载别人抵押品的；他这样作，要到几时呢？
和
这些国的民岂不都要提起诗歌并俗语讥刺他说：“祸哉！迦勒底人，你增添不属自己的财物，多多取人的当头，要到几时为止呢？”

这些国的人岂不都要唱起象征歌和讽刺谜语来嘲弄他说：“那增加不属自己之利息物的、有祸啊！──要到几时呢？──那多多取人的当头以肥己的、有祸啊！”

Will not all of these take up a parable against him, / Indeed a mocking song and a riddle against him, and say, / Woe to him who increases what is not his (For how long?) / And who loads himself with the burden of pledges?

Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!

Do not these -- all of them -- against him a simile taken up, And a moral of acute sayings for him, And say, Wo to him who is multiplying what is not his? Till when also is he multiplying to himself heavy pledges?

Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying, 'Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion! How long must this go on?'

咬伤你的岂不忽然起来，搅扰你的岂不醒起，你就成了他们的掳物么？

Will not those who bite you rise up suddenly, / And those who shake you awake, / And you will become booty to them?

因你抢夺许多的国，杀人流血，向地上城邑，并其中一切居民施行强暴，所以各族余剩的人都必抢夺你。

Because you have plundered many nations; / All the remnant of the peoples will plunder you, / Because of the bloodshed of men and the violence done to the land, / To the city, and to all the inhabitants in it.

Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

Indeed is it not of Jehovah of hosts / That the peoples toil for the fire / And the nations weary themselves for vanity?
