主耶和华指给我看：在为王割草之后，春季作物刚开始生长时，主造了蝗虫。

主耶和华指示我一件事：为王割菜之后（“菜”或作“草”），菜又发生，刚发生的时候，主造蝗虫。

主耶和华向我这样显示：看哪！替王收割之后，田产又开始生长时，主造出一群蝗虫。

吾主上主叫我看见这事：割完君王的青草，当晚草初生时，看，蝗虫出现了。

主永恒主这样使我看见：看哪，在替王刈割了之后、就有了再生植物；看哪，在再生植物刚长起来之初，永恒主正在使蝗虫形成呢。

这是主神指示我的：看哪，主造了蝗虫，就在春天的作物刚长出时，看哪，是王割草之后的春天作物。

כֹּ֤ה הִרְאַ֨נִי֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה וְהִנֵּה֙ יֹוצֵ֣ר גֹּבַ֔י בִּתְחִלַּ֖ת עֲלֹ֣ות הַלָּ֑קֶשׁ וְהִ֨נֵּה־לֶ֔קֶשׁ אַחַ֖ר גִּזֵּ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me, and there He was, forming locusts in the beginning of the springing up of the spring crop; and it was the spring crop after the king's mowings.

Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.

Thus did the Lord Jehovah shew unto me; and behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth, and behold, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.

Thus hath the Lord Jehovah shewed me, and lo, He is forming locusts at the beginning of the ascending of the latter growth, and lo, the latter growth is after the mowings of the king;

This is what the Sovereign Lord showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts after the king's share had been harvested and just as the second crop was coming up.

蝗虫吃尽那地的青物，我就说，主耶和华啊，求你赦免！因为雅各微小，他怎能站立得住呢？

蝗虫吃尽那地的青物，我就说：“主耶和华啊，求你赦免，因为雅各微弱，他怎能站立得住呢？”

蝗虫吃尽地上的农产时，我说：“主耶和华啊！求你宽恕，因雅各太弱小，怎能站立得住呢？”

当蝗虫要吃光地上的青草时，我就说：“吾主上主，求你饶恕吧！雅各伯还怎能存在？他已这样弱小！”

当蝗虫几乎将要吃尽了那地底青物时，我就说：“主永恒主啊，请赦免哦！雅各怎能站立得住呢？他是这么微小啊。”

当它吃尽那地的青物时，我就说：“主神啊，求你赦免；雅各怎能站立得住呢？因为他弱小。”

וְהָיָ֗ה אִם־כִּלָּה֙ לֶֽאֱכֹול֙ אֶת־עֵ֣שֶׂב הָאָ֔רֶץ וָאֹמַ֗ר אֲדֹנָ֤י יְהוִה֙ סְֽלַֽח־נָ֔א מִ֥י יָק֖וּם יַֽעֲקֹ֑ב כִּ֥י קָטֹ֖ןהֽוּא׃

And when their eating of the herbage of the land was complete, I said, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech You! How will Jacob stand, for he is small?

And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.

And it came to pass, when they had wholly eaten the grass of the land, that I said, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech thee! How shall Jacob arise? for he is small.

and it hath come to pass, when it hath finished to consume the herb of the land, that I say: 'Lord Jehovah, forgive, I pray Thee, How doth Jacob arise -- for he is small?'

When they had stripped the land clean, I cried out, "Sovereign Lord , forgive! How can Jacob survive? He is so small!"

耶和华就为此后悔：耶和华说，这灾必不发生。

耶和华就后悔说：“这灾可以免了。”

耶和华对这事改变心意，耶和华说：“这事不会发生。”

上主对这事后悔了。上主说：“这事不会发生。”

永恒主对这事改变了心意；主永恒主就说：“这事不发生啦。”

雅威就为这件事而心软，雅威说：“它不会临到。”

נִחַ֥ם יְהוָ֖ה עַל־זֹ֑את לֹ֥א תִהְיֶ֖ה אָמַ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃

Jehovah repented concerning this: It shall not be, says Jehovah.

The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, saith the LORD.

Jehovah repented for this: It shall not be, said Jehovah.

Jehovah hath repented of this, 'It shall not be,' said Jehovah.

So the Lord relented. "This will not happen," the Lord said.

主耶和华又指给我看：主耶和华召来火的刑罚，火就吞灭深渊，烧灭那地。

主耶和华又指示我一件事：他命火来惩罚以色列，火就吞灭深渊，险些将地烧灭。

主耶和华向我这样显示：看哪！主耶和华召来刑罚的火，烧毁广大的深渊和以色列的地业。

吾主上主叫我看见这事：看，吾主上主召来惩罚的火，烧毁了广大的深渊，又烧毁了上主的基业。

主永恒主这样使我看见：看哪，主永恒主正在呼唤着才火（传统：以火审判），火就吞灭了广大深渊，并且将要把耕种地段也烧毁掉。

这就是主神指示我的：看哪，主神命火来处理这个案件，火就吞灭深渊，烧尽产业。

כֹּ֤ה הִרְאַ֨נִי֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה וְהִנֵּ֥ה קֹרֵ֛א לָרִ֥ב בָּאֵ֖שׁ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה וַתֹּ֨אכַל֙ אֶת־תְּהֹ֣ום רַבָּ֔ה וְאָכְלָ֖האֶת־הַחֵֽלֶק׃

Thus the Lord Jehovah showed me, and there the Lord Jehovah was, calling to contend with them with fire; and it devoured the great deep, and it devoured the land.

Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.

Thus did the Lord Jehovah shew unto me; and behold, the Lord Jehovah called to contend by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and ate up the inheritance.

Thus hath the Lord Jehovah shewed me, and lo, the Lord Jehovah is calling to contend by fire, and it consumeth the great deep, yea, it hath consumed the portion, and I say:

This is what the Sovereign Lord showed me: The Sovereign Lord was calling for judgment by fire; it dried up the great deep and devoured the land.

我就说，主耶和华啊，求你止息！因为雅各微小，他怎能站立得住呢？

我就说：“主耶和华啊，求你止息，因为雅各微弱，他怎能站立得住呢？”

因此我对主耶和华说：“求你停止吧！因雅各太弱小，怎能站立得住呢？”

我就说：“吾主上主！求你罢休！雅各伯还怎能存在？他已这样弱小！”

我就说：“主永恒主啊，请停止哦！雅各怎能站立得住呢？他是这么微小啊。”

我就说：“主神啊，求你止息；雅各怎能站立得住呢？因为他弱小。”

וָאֹמַ֗ר אֲדֹנָ֤י יְהוִה֙ חֲדַל־נָ֔א מִ֥י יָק֖וּם יַעֲקֹ֑ב כִּ֥י קָטֹ֖ן הֽוּא׃

Then I said, O Lord Jehovah, Stop, I beseech You! How will Jacob stand, for he is small?

Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.

Then said I, O Lord Jehovah, cease, I beseech thee! How shall Jacob arise? for he is small.

'Lord Jehovah, cease, I pray Thee, How doth Jacob arise -- for he is small?'

Then I cried out, "Sovereign Lord , I beg you, stop! How can Jacob survive? He is so small!"

耶和华就为此后悔：主耶和华说，这灾也必不发生。

耶和华就后悔说：“这灾也可免了。”

耶和华对这事改变心意。主耶和华说：“这事也不会发生。”

上主对这事后悔了。吾主上主说：“这事也不会发生。”

永恒主对这事改变了心意；主永恒主就说：“这事不发生啦。”

雅威就为这件事而心软，…“它也不会临到。”主神说：

So the Lord relented. "This will not happen either," the Sovereign Lord said.

祂又指给我看：主站在一道按准绳筑好的墙上，祂手中拿着准绳。

他又指示我一件事：有一道墙是按准绳建筑的，主手拿准绳站在其上。

他向我这样显示：看哪！主站在一道按准绳建造的墙旁边，手里拿着准绳。

吾主上主叫我看见这事：看，有一人立在墙上，手中拿着一条铅垂线。

主永恒主这样使我看见：看哪，主站立在一道墙边（传统：在准绳的墙边），手里拿着准绳。

这是祂所指示我的：看哪，主站立在那依铅垂线建好的城墙上，手里拿着铅垂线。

כֹּ֣ה הִרְאַ֔נִי וְהִנֵּ֧ה אֲדֹנָ֛י נִצָּ֖ב עַל־חֹומַ֣ת אֲנָ֑ךְ וּבְיָדֹ֖ו אֲנָֽךְ׃

Thus He showed me, and there the Lord was, standing upon a perfectly plumbed wall; and in His hand was a plumb line.

Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.

Thus did he shew unto me; and behold, the Lord stood upon a wall [made] by a plumb-line, with a plumb-line in his hand.

Thus hath He shewed me, and lo, the Lord is standing by a wall made according to a plumb-line, and in His hand a plumb-line;

This is what he showed me: The Lord was standing by a wall that had been built true to plumb, with a plumb line in his hand.

耶和华对我说，阿摩司啊，你看见什么？我说，一条准绳。主说，我要安放准绳在我民以色列中；我必不再放过他们。

耶和华对我说：“阿摩司啊，你看见什么？”我说：“看见准绳。”主说：“我要吊起准绳在我民以色列中，我必不再宽恕他们。

耶和华对我说：“阿摩司，你看见什么？”我回答：“我看见准绳。”主又说：“看哪！我把准绳放在我民以色列中间，必不再放过他们。

上主对我说：“亚毛斯，你看见了什么？”我答说：“一条铅垂线。”吾主说：“看，我将铅垂线安置在我民族以色列当中，我不再放过她。

永恒主对我说：“阿摩司啊，你看见什么？”我说：“准绳。”主就说：“看吧，我必吊起准绳在我人民以色列中间；我必不再把他们放过去。

雅威对我说：“阿摩司啊，你看见什么？”我说：“铅垂线。”主说：“我要在我子民以色列中吊起铅垂线，不再宽恕他们；

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י מָֽה־אַתָּ֤ה רֹאֶה֙ עָמֹ֔וס וָאֹמַ֖ר אֲנָ֑ךְ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲדֹנָ֗י הִנְנִ֨י שָׂ֤ם אֲנָךְ֙ בְּקֶ֨רֶב֙ עַמִּ֣ייִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לֹֽא־אֹוסִ֥יף עֹ֖וד עֲבֹ֥ור לֹֽו׃

And Jehovah said to me, What do you see, Amos? And I said, A plumb line. And the Lord said, I am now setting a plumb line in the midst of My people Israel; I will not pass them by anymore.

And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:

And Jehovah said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumb-line. And the Lord said, Behold, I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more.

and Jehovah saith unto me, 'What art thou seeing, Amos?' And I say, 'A plumb-line;' and the Lord saith: 'Lo, I am setting a plumb-line in the midst of My people Israel, I do not add any more to pass over to it.

And the Lord asked me, "What do you see, Amos?" "A plumb line," I replied. Then the Lord said, "Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.

以撒的邱坛必然荒废，以色列的圣所必成荒场；我必兴起，用刀攻击耶罗波安的家。

以撒的邱坛必然凄凉，以色列的圣所必然荒废。我必兴起，用刀攻击耶罗波安的家。”

וְנָשַׁ֨מּוּ֙ בָּמֹ֣ות יִשְׂחָ֔ק וּמִקְדְּשֵׁ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יֶחֱרָ֑בוּ וְקַמְתִּ֛י עַל־בֵּ֥ית יָרָבְעָ֖ם בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ פ

And the high places of Isaac will be desolated, / And the sanctuaries of Israel will be made waste; / And I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with a sword.

And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

And the high places of Isaac shall be desolated, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will arise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

And desolated have been high places of Isaac, And sanctuaries of Israel are wasted, And I have risen against the house of Jeroboam with a sword.'

The high places of Isaac will be destroyed and the sanctuaries of Israel will be ruined; with my sword I will rise against the house of Jeroboam.

伯特利的祭司亚玛谢打发人到以色列王耶罗波安那里，说，阿摩司在以色列家中，图谋背叛你；他所说的一切话，这地担当不起。

伯特利的祭司亚玛谢打发人到以色列王耶罗波安说：“阿摩司在以色列家中图谋背叛了你；他所说的一切话、这国担当不起。

伯特利的祭司亚玛谢派人．到以色列王耶罗波安那里，说：“阿摩司在以色列家中图谋背叛你，这国无法承受．他所说的一切话；

וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח אֲמַצְיָה֙ כֹּהֵ֣ן בֵּֽית־אֵ֔ל אֶל־יָרָבְעָ֥ם מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר קָשַׁ֨ר עָלֶ֜יךָ עָמֹ֗וס בְּקֶ֨רֶב֙בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לֹא־תוּכַ֣ל הָאָ֔רֶץ לְהָכִ֖יל אֶת־כָּל־דְּבָרָֽיו׃

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent word to Jeroboam the king of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is not able to endure all his words.

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent a message to Jeroboam king of Israel: "Amos is raising a conspiracy against you in the very heart of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words.

因为阿摩司如此说，耶罗波安必被刀杀，以色列民定被掳去，离开本地。

因为阿摩司如此说：‘耶罗波安必被刀杀，以色列百姓必定被掳，离开本地。’”

כִּי־כֹה֙ אָמַ֣ר עָמֹ֔וס בַּחֶ֖רֶב יָמ֣וּת יָרָבְעָ֑ם וְיִ֨שְׂרָאֵ֔ל גָּלֹ֥ה יִגְלֶ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל אַדְמָתֹֽו׃ ס

For thus says Amos, By the sword Jeroboam will die, and Israel will surely go into captivity out from its land.

For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.

For thus Amos saith: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall certainly go into captivity out of his land.

for thus said Amos: By sword die doth Jeroboam, And Israel certainly removeth from off its land.'

For this is what Amos is saying: " 'Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will surely go into exile, away from their native land.' "

亚玛谢又对阿摩司说，你这先见哪，要逃往犹大地去，在那里糊口，在那里说预言；

亚玛谢又对阿摩司说：“见异象的人哪、走吧，逃往犹大地去吧！在那里找口饭吃，在那里传神言吧！

于是亚玛谢对阿摩司说：“你这先见哪，要逃往犹大地去，在那里混一口饭吃，在那里说预言；

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲמַצְיָה֙ אֶל־עָמֹ֔וס חֹזֶ֕ה לֵ֥ךְ בְּרַח־לְךָ֖ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ יְהוּדָ֑ה וֶאֱכָל־שָׁ֣ם לֶ֔חֶם וְשָׁ֖םתִּנָּבֵֽא׃

Then Amaziah said to Amos, Go, you seer; flee into the land of Judah, and eat bread there, and prophesy there;

Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:

And Amaziah said unto Amos, [Thou] seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and eat bread there, and prophesy there.

And Amaziah saith unto Amos, 'Seer, go flee for thee unto the land of Judah, and eat there bread, and there thou dost prophesy;

Then Amaziah said to Amos, "Get out, you seer! Go back to the land of Judah. Earn your bread there and do your prophesying there.

却不要在伯特利再说预言，因为这里是王的圣所，是王的宫殿。

וּבֵֽית־אֵ֔ל לֹֽא־תֹוסִ֥יף עֹ֖וד לְהִנָּבֵ֑א כִּ֤י מִקְדַּשׁ־מֶ֨לֶךְ֙ ה֔וּא וּבֵ֥ית מַמְלָכָ֖ה הֽוּא׃ ס

But in Bethel you shall not ever prophesy again, for it is the king's sanctuary and it is the royal residence.

But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court.

But prophesy not again any more at Bethel; for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is the house of the kingdom.

and at Beth-El do not add to prophesy any more, for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is the royal house.'

Don't prophesy anymore at Bethel, because this is the king's sanctuary and the temple of the kingdom."

阿摩司回答亚玛谢说，我原不是申言者，也不是申言者的儿子；我是牧人，又是修剪桑树的。

阿摩司对亚玛谢说：“我原不是先知，也不是先知的门徒（原文作“儿子”）；我是牧人，又是修理桑树的。

亚毛斯回答阿玛责雅说：“我原不是先知，也不是先知的弟子，只是一个放羊兼修剪野无花果的人。

阿摩司回答亚玛谢说：“我不是神言人，也不是神言人的弟子；我乃是牧人，又是整理无花果树桑树的；

阿摩司对亚玛谢说：“我不是先知，也不是先知的门徒；我是牧人，是修剪桑树的。

וַיַּ֤עַן עָמֹוס֙ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֶל־אֲמַצְיָ֔ה לֹא־נָבִ֣יא אָנֹ֔כִי וְלֹ֥א בֶן־נָבִ֖יא אָנֹ֑כִי כִּֽי־בֹוקֵ֥ר אָנֹ֖כִי וּבֹולֵ֥סשִׁקְמִֽים׃

Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, I am no prophet, nor am I the son of a prophet; rather I am a herdsman and a dresser of sycamores.

耶和华选召我，使我不跟从羊群，对我说，你去向我民以色列说预言。

永恒主选取了我、使我不赶羊；永恒主对我说：“你去向我人民以色列传神言。’

雅威选召我，叫我不再照管羊群，雅威对我说：‘你去向我子民以色列说预言。’

וַיִּקָּחֵ֣נִי יְהוָ֔ה מֵאַחֲרֵ֖י הַצֹּ֑אן וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלַי֙ יְהוָ֔ה לֵ֥ךְ הִנָּבֵ֖א אֶל־עַמִּ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And Jehovah took me from following the flock, and Jehovah said to me, Go, prophesy to My people Israel.

And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.

And Jehovah took me as I followed the flock, and Jehovah said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.

and Jehovah taketh me from after the flock, and Jehovah saith unto me, Go, prophesy unto My people Israel.

But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to me, 'Go, prophesy to my people Israel.'

亚玛谢啊，现在你要听耶和华的话；你说，不要说预言攻击以色列，也不要说话攻击以撒家。

亚玛谢啊，现在你要听耶和华的话。你说：‘不要向以色列说预言，也不要向以撒家滴下预言。’

现在你要听耶和华的话；因为你说：‘不要说预言攻击以色列，不要说攻击以撒家的话。’

现今，你且听上主说什么。你说：不要讲预言攻击以色列，不要发言反对依撒格家！

“如今呢、你要听永恒主的话。你说：‘不可传神言攻击以色列，不可发神言攻击撒家。’

现在你要听雅威的话。你说：‘不要向以色列说预言，也不要向以撒家传讲预言。’

וְעַתָּ֖ה שְׁמַ֣ע דְּבַר־יְהוָ֑ה אַתָּ֣ה אֹמֵ֗ר לֹ֤א תִנָּבֵא֙ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְלֹ֥א תַטִּ֖יף עַל־בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂחָֽק׃

And now hear the word of Jehovah: You say, You shall not prophesy against Israel, nor shall you speak against the house of Isaac.

Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.

And now hear thou the word of Jehovah: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and utter not [words] against the house of Isaac.

And now, hear a word of Jehovah: thou art saying, Do not prophesy against Israel, nor drop any thing against the house of Isaac,

Now then, hear the word of the Lord . You say, " 'Do not prophesy against Israel, and stop preaching against the house of Isaac.'

所以耶和华如此说，你的妻子必在城中作妓女，你的儿女必倒在刀下，你的地必有人用绳子量了分取，你自己必死在污秽之地；以色列民定被掳去离开本地。

所以耶和华如此说：‘你的妻子必在城中作妓女，你的儿女必倒在刀下；你的地必有人用绳子量了分取，你自己必死在污秽之地。以色列民定被掳去离开本地。’”

所以，耶和华这样说：‘你妻子必在城中作妓女，你的儿女必倒在刀下；你的土地必被人量度瓜分，你自己必死在不洁之地；以色列必被掳，离开本国。’”

为此，上主这样说：你的妻子必在城中卖淫，你的子女必丧身刀下，你的田地必被人以绳墨瓜分，你自己必死在不洁之地，以色列必被掳去充军，远离本土。”

故此永恒主这么说：‘你的妻子必在城中做妓女，你的儿女必倒毙于刀下，你的土地必被测量绳所瓜分；你自己呢、必在不洁净之地死掉，以色列民一定流亡、离开本地。’”

所以雅威如此说：‘你的妻子要在城中作妓女，你的儿女要倒在刀下；你的地必有人用绳子量了瓜分，你自己必死在污秽之地；以色列百姓必定被掳，离开本地。’”

לָכֵ֞ן כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אִשְׁתְּךָ֞ בָּעִ֤יר תִּזְנֶה֙ וּבָנֶ֤יךָ וּבְנֹתֶ֨יךָ֙ בַּחֶ֣רֶב יִפֹּ֔לוּ וְאַדְמָתְךָ֖ בַּחֶ֣בֶלתְּחֻלָּ֑ק וְאַתָּ֗ה עַל־אֲדָמָ֤ה טְמֵאָה֙ תָּמ֔וּת וְיִ֨שְׂרָאֵ֔ל גָּלֹ֥ה יִגְלֶ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל אַדְמָתֹֽו׃ ס

Therefore thus says Jehovah, Your wife will go about as a harlot in the city, / And your sons and your daughters will fall by the sword, / And your land will be divided by the line, / And you yourself will die in a land that is unclean; / And Israel will indeed go into captivity / Out from its land.

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.

Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Thy wife shall be a harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided with the line; and thou shalt die in a land that is unclean; and Israel shall certainly go into captivity, out of his land.

therefore thus said Jehovah: Thy wife in the city doth go a-whoring, And thy sons and thy daughters by sword do fall, And thy land by line is apportioned, And thou on an unclean land diest, And Israel certainly removeth from off its land.'

Therefore this is what the Lord says: 'Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be measured and divided up, and you yourself will die in a pagan country. And Israel will certainly go into exile, away from their native land.' "
