波阿斯去到城门，坐在那里，波阿斯所说那个有买赎权的近亲刚巧路过那里。波阿斯说：“喂，老兄，过来坐一下吧。”他就过去坐下来了。

波阿次走上城门口，坐在那里。可巧，波阿次所说的那位至亲，正从那里经过，他就对他说：“某兄，请过来，坐一坐！”他就过去坐下了。

波阿斯上城门去，坐在那里；恰巧波阿斯所说的那位赎业至亲从那里经过了；波阿斯说：“某某人哪，请转身坐在这里吧！”他就转身坐下。

波阿斯上到城门，坐在那里，看哪，波阿斯所说的那至近亲属经过。他(指波阿斯)说：“某某人哪，转回来坐在这里。”他就转回坐下。

וּבֹ֨עַז עָלָ֣ה הַשַּׁעַר֮ וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב שָׁם֒ וְהִנֵּ֨ה הַגֹּאֵ֤ל עֹבֵר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּר־בֹּ֔עַז וַיֹּ֛אמֶר ס֥וּרָה שְׁבָה־פֹּ֖הפְּלֹנִ֣י אַלְמֹנִ֑י וַיָּ֖סַר וַיֵּשֵֽׁב׃

Then Boaz went up to the gate and sat there. And just then the kinsman of whom Boaz had spoken came by. And Boaz said, Turn aside and sit here, friend. And he turned aside and sat down.

Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.

And Boaz went up to the gate, and sat down there. And behold, he that had the right of redemption, of whom Boaz had spoken, came by. And he said, Thou, such a one, turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside and sat down.

And Boaz hath gone up to the gate, and sitteth there, and lo, the redeemer is passing by of whom Boaz had spoken, and he saith, 'Turn aside, sit down here, such a one, such a one;' and he turneth aside and sitteth down.

Meanwhile Boaz went up to the town gate and sat there. When the kinsman-redeemer he had mentioned came along, Boaz said, "Come over here, my friend, and sit down." So he went over and sat down.

波阿斯又从本城的长老中选取了十个人，对他们说，请你们坐在这里。他们就都坐下。

And he took ten men from among the elders of the city and said, Sit here. And they sat down.

Boaz took ten of the elders of the town and said, "Sit here," and they did so.

波阿斯对那亲人说，从摩押乡间回来的拿俄米，现在要卖我们弟兄以利米勒的那块田地；

波阿斯对那至近的亲属说：“从摩押地回来的拿俄米，现在要卖我们族兄以利米勒的那块地。

他对那个有买赎权的近亲说：“从摩押地回来的拿俄米，现在要卖我们族兄以利米勒的那块地。

波阿次便对那位至亲说：“从摩阿布乡间回来的纳敖米要卖我们兄弟厄里默肋客的一块田。

波阿斯对那位赎业至亲说：“从摩押乡间回来的拿俄米曾经卖了（或译：现在要卖）我们族兄以利米勒的那份田地。

他(指波阿斯)对那至近的亲属说：“…我们族兄以利米勒的那块地；从摩押地回来的拿俄米要卖

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר֙ לַגֹּאֵ֔ל חֶלְקַת֙ הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְאָחִ֖ינוּ לֶאֱלִימֶ֑לֶךְ מָכְרָ֣ה נָעֳמִ֔י הַשָּׁ֖בָה מִשְּׂדֵ֥ה מֹואָֽב׃

And he said to the kinsman, Naomi, who has returned from the country of Moab, has put up for sale the portion of the field that belonged to our brother Elimelech.

And he said unto the kinsman, Naomi, that is come again out of the country of Moab, selleth a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech's:

And he said to him that had the right of redemption: Naomi, who is come back out of the country of Moab, sells the allotment that was our brother Elimelech's.

And he saith to the redeemer, 'A portion of the field which is to our brother, to Elimelech, hath Naomi sold, who hath come back from the fields of Moab;

Then he said to the kinsman-redeemer, "Naomi, who has come back from Moab, is selling the piece of land that belonged to our brother Elimelech.

我想我应当向你表明，说，你可以在这里坐着的人面前和我族人的长老面前买这块田地。你若肯赎就赎，若不肯赎就告诉我，让我知道；因为只有你可以赎，其次就是我。那人回答说，我肯赎。

我想当赎那块地的是你，其次是我，以外再没有别人了。你可以在这里的人面前，和我本国的长老面前说明，你若肯赎就赎，若不肯赎就告诉我。”那人回答说：“我肯赎。”

我想把这一件事告诉你，请你在众民的长老，还有在座的各位面前，把它买下来吧。如果你肯赎就赎，假如不肯，就说出来，让我知道；因为除了你当赎它以外，我是第一候补。”那人说：“我肯赎。”

我认为我应在你面前说明这事，并请你当着在坐的诸位及民众的长老前，购买这块地。若你愿意尽你至亲的义务，就尽；若你不愿意尽，请告诉我知道；因为除你应尽这义务之外，没有别人了；你以后就是我。”那人答说：“我尽。”

我心里说：我应当向你披露说：你可以在在座的人面前、和我族人中间的长老面前、买回它；你如果要赎，就赎它；如果不（传统：他若不）要赎，就告诉我，让我知道；因为除了你以外、再没有别人可以赎了；其次就是我了。”那人说：“我要赎。”

我说，我要打开你的耳朵说，在居民和我本国的长老们面前你可以买，你若肯赎就赎，若不肯赎就告诉我，让我知道；因为当赎的除了你，其次是我，以外再没有别人了。”他说：“我肯赎。”

וַאֲנִ֨י אָמַ֜רְתִּי אֶגְלֶ֧ה אָזְנְךָ֣ לֵאמֹ֗ר קְ֠נֵה נֶ֥גֶד הַֽיֹּשְׁבִים֮ וְנֶ֣גֶד זִקְנֵ֣י עַמִּי֒ אִם־תִּגְאַל֙ גְּאָ֔לוְאִם־לֹ֨א יִגְאַ֜ל הַגִּ֣ידָה לִּ֗י וְאֵדַע כִּ֣י אֵ֤ין זוּלָֽתְךָ֙ לִגְאֹ֔ול וְאָנֹכִ֖י אַחֲרֶ֑יךָ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אָנֹכִ֥י אֶגְאָֽל׃

So I thought that I should disclose this to you and say, Buy it in the presence of those sitting here and in the presence of the elders of my people. If you can redeem it, redeem it; but if you cannot redeem it, tell me so that I will know; for there is no one to redeem it ahead of you, and I am after you. And he said, I will redeem it.

And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it.

And I thought I would apprise thee of it and say, Buy [it] in the presence of the inhabitants, and in the presence of the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem [it], redeem; but if thou wilt not redeem, tell me, that I may know; for there is none to redeem besides thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem [it].

and I said, I uncover thine ear, saying, Buy before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people; if thou dost redeem -- redeem, and if none doth redeem -- declare to me, and I know, for there is none save thee to redeem, and I after thee.' And he saith, I redeem it.'

I thought I should bring the matter to your attention and suggest that you buy it in the presence of these seated here and in the presence of the elders of my people. If you will redeem it, do so. But if you will not, tell me, so I will know. For no one has the right to do it except you, and I am next in line." "I will redeem it," he said.

波阿斯说，你从拿俄米手中买这田地的时候，也当娶死人的妻摩押女子路得，叫死人的名得以在他的产业上存立。

波阿斯说：“你从拿俄米手中买这地的时候，也当娶（原文作“买”。10节同）死人的妻摩押女子路得，使死人在产业上存留他的名。”

波阿斯说：“你从拿俄米手中买下那块地的时候，你也得娶（“娶”原文作“买”）已死的人的妻子摩押女子路得，使已死的人的名字留在他的产业上。”

波阿次接着说：“你从纳敖米手中购得田地的那一天，也应娶亡者之妻，即摩阿布女子卢德，好给死者在嗣业上留名。”

波阿斯说：“那么、你从拿俄米手中买这田地的那一天，也该买娶死者的妻摩押女子路得（传统：也得从死者┅┅路得买它），好让死者的名得以在他的产业上立起来。”

波阿斯说：“你从拿俄米手中…买这地的时候，以及从摩押女子路得．也当娶[原文是买；10节同]死人的妻，使死人的名字可以在他的产业上得以建立。”

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר בֹּ֔עַז בְּיֹום־קְנֹותְךָ֥ הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה מִיַּ֣ד נָעֳמִ֑י וּ֠מֵאֵת ר֣וּת הַמֹּואֲבִיָּ֤ה אֵֽשֶׁת־הַמֵּת֙ קָנִיתִילְהָקִ֥ים שֵׁם־הַמֵּ֖ת עַל־נַחֲלָתֹֽו׃

Then Boaz said, On the day you buy the field from Naomi's hand, you must also acquire Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead man, in order to raise up the dead man's name upon his inheritance.

Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.

And Boaz said, On the day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy [it] also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.

And Boaz saith, 'In the day of thy buying the field from the hand of Naomi, then from Ruth the Moabitess, wife of the dead, thou hast bought it, to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance.'

Then Boaz said, "On the day you buy the land from Naomi and from Ruth the Moabitess, you acquire the dead man's widow, in order to maintain the name of the dead with his property."

那亲人说，这样我自己就不能赎了，恐怕于我的产业有损。你自己可以赎我所当赎的，因我不能赎了。

那人说：“这样我就不能赎了，恐怕于我的产业有碍。你可以赎我所当赎的，我不能赎了。”

那有买赎权的近亲说：“那我就不能赎它了，只怕损害了我的产业。你可以赎我当赎的，因为我没有办法赎了。”

那位至亲答说：“那么我就不能尽这义务了，免得我的产业受害，你尽我应尽的义务吧！我不能尽了。”

那位赎业至亲就说：“这样我就不能赎了，恐怕对我自己的产业有妨碍；你所应当赎的、你尽管去赎好啦；我不能赎了。”

那个至近的亲属说：“(这样)我不能为自己赎了，恐怕于我的产业有损。你为自己赎我所当赎的吧，因我不能赎了。”

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר הַגֹּאֵ֗ל לֹ֤א אוּכַל֙ לִגְאֹול לִ֔י פֶּן־אַשְׁחִ֖ית אֶת־נַחֲלָתִ֑י גְּאַל־לְךָ֤ אַתָּה֙ אֶת־גְּאֻלָּתִ֔י כִּ֥ילֹא־אוּכַ֖ל לִגְאֹֽל׃

And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, or else I will mar my own inheritance. You redeem for yourself what I should redeem, for I cannot redeem it.

And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it.

And he that had the right of redemption said, I cannot redeem [it] for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance. Redeem thou for thyself what I should redeem, for I cannot redeem [it].

And the redeemer saith, 'I am not able to redeem it for myself, lest I destroy mine inheritance; redeem for thyself -- thou -- my right of redemption, for I am not able to redeem.'

At this, the kinsman-redeemer said, "Then I cannot redeem it because I might endanger my own estate. You redeem it yourself. I cannot do it."

从前，在以色列中要确立什么事，或赎回，或交易，这人就脱鞋给那人。以色列中乃是以此为证据。

从前在以色列，无论买赎或是交易，决定什么事，当事人就要脱鞋给对方。这是以色列中作证的方式。

从前在以色列中间，无论对于买卖或交易，为确定一事，有这样的一个风俗：就是一方应脱下自己的鞋，交与另一方：这在以色列就算为证据。

从前在以色列中要确立什么事，或是赎回或是交易，有以下这样的规矩：这人脱鞋给那人：这就是以色列中放弃赎权的证据。

从前，在以色列中…是这样的：或赎回，或交易，要定夺什么事，这人把他的鞋子脱下来给那人。在以色列都以此为证。

וְזֹאת֩ לְפָנִ֨ים בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל עַל־הַגְּאוּלָּ֤ה וְעַל־הַתְּמוּרָה֙ לְקַיֵּ֣ם כָּל־דָּבָ֔ר שָׁלַ֥ף אִ֛ישׁ נַעֲלֹ֖ו וְנָתַ֣ןלְרֵעֵ֑הוּ וְזֹ֥את הַתְּעוּדָ֖ה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Now such was the custom formerly in Israel concerning redeeming and exchanging that to establish any matter a man would draw off his sandal and give it to his neighbor; this was the way of attesting it in Israel.

Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a testimony in Israel.

Now this [was the custom] in former time in Israel concerning redemption and concerning exchange, to confirm the whole matter: a man drew off his sandal, and gave it to his neighbour, and this was the [mode of] attestation in Israel.

And this is formerly in Israel for redemption and for changing, to establish anything: a man hath drawn off his sandal, and given it to his neighbour, and this is the testimony in Israel.

(Now in earlier times in Israel, for the redemption and transfer of property to become final, one party took off his sandal and gave it to the other. This was the method of legalizing transactions in Israel.)

那亲人对波阿斯说，你自己买吧；于是将鞋脱下来了。

那人对波阿斯说：“你自己买吧！”于是将鞋脱下来了。

那有买赎权的近亲对波阿斯说：“你自己买下来吧。”就把鞋脱下来。

那位至亲对波阿次说：“你购买吧！”遂就脱下了自己的鞋。

因此那位赎业至亲对波阿斯说：“你自己买吧”；于是将鞋脱下来。

那至近亲属对波阿斯说：“你自己买吧！”于是把他的鞋子脱下来了。

וַיֹּ֧אמֶר הַגֹּאֵ֛ל לְבֹ֖עַז קְנֵה־לָ֑ךְ וַיִּשְׁלֹ֖ף נַעֲלֹֽו׃

So when the kinsman said to Boaz, Buy it for yourself, he drew off his sandal.

Therefore the kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy it for thee. So he drew off his shoe.

And he that had the right of redemption said to Boaz, Buy for thyself; and he drew off his sandal.

And the redeemer saith to Boaz, 'Buy it for thyself,' and draweth off his sandal.

So the kinsman-redeemer said to Boaz, "Buy it yourself." And he removed his sandal.

波阿斯对长老和众民说，你们今日作见证，凡属以利米勒和基连、玛伦的，我都从拿俄米手中置买了；

波阿斯对长老和众民说：“你们今日作见证，凡属以利米勒和基连、玛伦的，我都从拿俄米手中置买了，

波阿斯对长老和众人说：“今天你们都是见证人，所有属于以利米勒、基连和玛伦的，我都从拿俄米手中买下来了。

于是波阿次对长老及所有在坐的民众说：“今天你们作证，我从纳敖米手中购得了属于厄里默肋客及基肋雍与玛赫隆的一切产业；

波阿斯对长老们和众民说：“你们今天作见证：凡属以利米勒、和基连玛伦的、我都从拿俄米手中买来了；

波阿斯对长老们和众民说：“你们今日作证，凡属以利米勒…，我都…买了；和凡属基连、玛伦的．从拿俄米手中

וַיֹּאמֶר֩ בֹּ֨עַז לַזְּקֵנִ֜ים וְכָל־הָעָ֗ם עֵדִ֤ים אַתֶּם֙ הַיֹּ֔ום כִּ֤י קָנִ֨יתִי֙ אֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֶֽאֱלִימֶ֔לֶךְ וְאֵ֛תכָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְכִלְיֹ֖ון וּמַחְלֹ֑ון מִיַּ֖ד נָעֳמִֽי׃

And Boaz said to the elders and all the people, You are witnesses today, that I buy from Naomi's hand all that was Elimelech's and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's.

And Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, of the hand of Naomi.

And Boaz said to the elders and all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, of the hand of Naomi;

And Boaz saith to the elders, and to all the people, 'Witnesses are ye to-day that I have bought all that is to Elimelech, and all that is to Chilion and Mahlon, from the hand of Naomi;

Then Boaz announced to the elders and all the people, "Today you are witnesses that I have bought from Naomi all the property of Elimelech, Kilion and Mahlon.

我又娶了玛伦的妻摩押女子路得为妻，好叫死人的名得以在他的产业上存立，免得死人的名从他的弟兄中，并从他本乡灭没。你们今日可以作见证。

又娶了玛伦的妻摩押女子路得为妻，好在死人的产业上存留他的名，免得他的名在本族本乡灭没。你们今日可以作见证。”

同时我也取得了玛赫隆的妻，摩阿布的女子卢德为我的妻室，好给死者在嗣业上留名，不叫死者的名字，在自己的兄弟和故乡的门户中失传；今日你们为此作证！”

也买娶了玛伦的妻摩押女子路得为妻，好让死者的名得以在他的产业上立起来，免得死者的名从他族弟兄中、从他故乡之门下、被剪除：你们今天都作见证。”

连玛伦的妻摩押女子路得，我也娶了为妻，好让死人的名字在他的产业上得以建立，免得死人的名字…被剪除。在他的族兄弟和他本地的城门．你们今日可以作见证。

וְגַ֣ם אֶת־ר֣וּת הַמֹּאֲבִיָּה֩ אֵ֨שֶׁת מַחְלֹ֜ון קָנִ֧יתִי לִ֣י לְאִשָּׁ֗ה לְהָקִ֤ים שֵׁם־הַמֵּת֙ עַל־נַ֣חֲלָתֹ֔ווְלֹא־יִכָּרֵ֧ת שֵׁם־הַמֵּ֛ת מֵעִ֥ם אֶחָ֖יו וּמִשַּׁ֣עַר מְקֹומֹ֑ו עֵדִ֥ים אַתֶּ֖ם הַיֹּֽום׃

Furthermore Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, I acquire as my own wife so that I may raise up the dead man's name upon his inheritance and the dead man's name may not be cut off from among his brothers and from the gate of his place. You are witnesses today.

Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.

在城门坐着的众民和长老都说，我们作见证。愿耶和华使进你家的这女子，像建立以色列家的拉结、利亚二人一样。又愿你在以法他得财富，在伯利恒得名声。

在城门旁的民众和长老都回答说：“我们作证。愿上主使这走进你家中的妇女，像似那两位曾建立了以色列家的辣黑耳和肋啊！愿你在厄弗辣大昌盛，愿你在白冷得享盛名！

在城门那里的众民、以及那些长老都说：“我们作见证。愿永恒主使进你家的这女子像建立以色列家的拉结利亚二人一样；又愿你在以法他大显才德，愿你的名在伯利恒得称扬；

在城门的众民和长老们都说：“作证！愿雅威使进你家的这女子，像拉结和利亚…一样。她们二人建立以色列家．又愿你在以法他得亨通，在伯利恒得名声。

וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ כָּל־הָעָ֧ם אֲשֶׁר־בַּשַּׁ֛עַר וְהַזְּקֵנִ֖ים עֵדִ֑ים יִתֵּן֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֶֽת־הָאִשָּׁ֜ה הַבָּאָ֣ה אֶל־בֵּיתֶ֗ךָכְּרָחֵ֤ל׀ וּכְלֵאָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר בָּנ֤וּ שְׁתֵּיהֶם֙ אֶת־בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַעֲשֵׂה־חַ֣יִל בְּאֶפְרָ֔תָה וּקְרָא־שֵׁ֖ם בְּבֵ֥יתלָֽחֶם׃

And all the people who were in the gate and the elders said, We are witnesses. May Jehovah make the woman who has come into your house like Rachel and like Leah, the two who built the house of Israel. And prosper in Ephrathah, and gain a name in Bethlehem.

And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:

And all the people that were in the gate and the elders said, [We are] witnesses. Jehovah make the woman that cometh into thy house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel; and acquire power in Ephratah, and make thyself a name in Bethlehem;

Then the elders and all those at the gate said, "We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

妇人们对拿俄米说：“雅威是应当称颂的！因他今日没有使妳无至近的亲属。愿他[指这孩子]在以色列中得名声。

וַתֹּאמַ֤רְנָה הַנָּשִׁים֙ אֶֽל־נָעֳמִ֔י בָּר֣וּךְ יְהוָ֔ה אֲ֠שֶׁר לֹ֣א הִשְׁבִּ֥ית לָ֛ךְ גֹּאֵ֖ל הַיֹּ֑ום וְיִקָּרֵ֥א שְׁמֹ֖ובְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And he will be to you as a restorer of life and a sustainer in your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you and is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.

And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.

He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth."
